Joaquin Niemann Parents: Jorge Niemann And Pamela Zenteno

Joaquin Niemann was born to his father, Jorge Niemann, and his mother, Pamela Zenteno, in Chile.

He comes from a big family, as he has three brothers and two sisters.

Jorge Niemann, his father, was a basketball player in college.

Niemann’s family lived in a golf community in Santiago, Chile. Although Jorge just plays golf for fun, he handed his son a plastic golf club before he could walk.

After his father gave him plastic clubs at the age of 2, Joaquin learned the game at Club de Polo y Equitacion San Cristobal. He went and played there every day after school.

Joaquin even followed his engineer father to Santiago after his parents divorced when he was in eighth grade. Santiago turned out to be better for his golf career.

Pamela Zenteno, his mother, is also a great athlete. She played field hockey for Chile’s national team, which is a rather popular sport in Chile.

The golfer’s mother takes credit for her son’s admirable golf skills, as she was a great sport once. Niemann had always been closer to his mother, including her large extended family.

Due to their close bond, he donated large sums of his winnings on the PGA Tour to help his infant cousin from his mother’s side, who was suffering from a fatal genetic disease.

Niemann even participated in national and international fundraising campaigns in order to get injections for the boy’s Spinal Muscular Atrophy. His pledges made the difference as the boy got the injection that saved the boy’s life.

Both parents have been very instrumental in the life of Joaquin and the successes achieved so far in his golfing career.
