The Australian professional rugby league football player Tamika Upton is not the only child of her parents, Tracy and Cameron Upton.
The NRL Women’s Premiership player is fortunate to have two siblings: Koby and Lorri.
Although Tracy and Cameron are the parents of a promising rugby player, they have been able to maintain their anonymity. However, they frequently attend their daughter’s gameplay.
Tamika Upton first started playing rugby league as a child in Blackwater.
Upton played touch football before beginning her career as a rugby league player. During the 2017 Trans Tasman Series, she played for the Australian national team, the Emus.
Additionally, she co-captained the Queensland Cowboys in the 2017 NRL Touch Competition.
Later in 2018, Tamika joined the Yeppoon Seagulls’ women’s side only to sign with the Brisbane Broncos NRL Women’s Premiership team in July 2019.
However, the fullback played for the Broncos at the NRL Nines in 2020.
There, she made it into the Team of the Tournament and moved on to join the Central Queensland Capras in the QRL Women’s Premiership.
Recently, Upton with Newcastle has been named the NRLW Dally M Medal winner for 2023.
She prepares to face the Titans in the season finale on Sunday in hopes of capping an explosive campaign with a championship.
Tamika Upton Parents
Who Are Tracy and Cameron Upton?
Tamika Upton was born in Rockhampton, Australia, to her parents: her father, Cameron, and her mother, Tracy Upton.
The Indigenous Australian descent grew up in Queensland alongside her two siblings, brother Koby and sister Lorri Upton.
Without her parents, Tracy and Cameron Upton, Tamika Upton’s road to becoming a professional rugby league player would not have been feasible.
There isn’t much known about Tamika’s parents or siblings, but one can only imagine how proud they must have been of their daughter’s accomplishments.
As parents, they have unquestionably been her biggest supporters, inspiring her and supporting her through the highs and lows of her career.
The three-time NRLW premiership winner recently talked about her family while receiving her 2023 NRLW Dally M Medal.
“My family, I know they’re supporting me back home and it’s pretty tough living away but I need to send a shoutout to the Southwell family because having a home away from home is pretty special.”
Tamika’s parents are seen attending her daughter’s play whenever possible.
Tracy Upton Talks About Her Daughter
The parents of Tamika Upton, along with her siblings Koby and Lorri, were present at Sunshine Coast Stadium.
Upton was a star player at that game when Queensland Maroons defeated the New South Wales Blues 24-18 in the 2020 Women’s State of Origin.
Tracy stated she couldn’t have been prouder of her daughter and that it was an incredible accomplishment.
“We are just so happy that she’s enjoying it, which obviously you can tell in the way she played that she is,” said Tracy.
Tracy remarked that it was a memorable occasion for the entire family, but especially for Koby, Tamika’s brother.
Koby, too, looked excited as he posed with her sister in a cute photo after the victory.
