An American coach, James Franklin, who previously served as the head football coach at Penn State University, is happily married to his wife, Fumi Franklin.
They first met when James was coaching at Washington State University, and Fumi was a student there.
Although they didn’t date initially, they eventually connected later when James started coaching at the University of Maryland after getting to know each other through a mutual friend.
They eventually dater and are now happily married and have two daughters.
James Franklin, born on February 2, 1972, in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, has had a notable career in college football coaching.
Before his role as the head coach for Penn State, Franklin himself played college football at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania, where he served as a quarterback from 1991 to 1994.
In his senior year, he was nominated for the NCAA Division II Player of the Year. He graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1995.
Franklin began his coaching career as a wide receivers coach at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 1995.
He then transitioned to a role as the wide receivers coach at the University of Maryland. Later, in 2011, James served as a head coach at Vanderbilt.
Moreover, he was recognized as the first African American to hold the position of head coach of a major sport at Vanderbilt and the third head football coach in the Southeastern Conference.

Fumi Franklin, James Franklin’s wife, graduated from Washington State University and later earned a master’s degree in educational administration.
They first met at Washington State University in 1998 when Fumi was a student, and James was working as the tight ends coach.
But they didn’t start dating until three years later, when James became the wide receivers coach at the University of Maryland in 2001, following his time at Idaho State.
They got married in 2005 when James was coaching as the wide receivers coach for the Green Bay Packers.
Fumi is now a mother of two children and has been focusing on her children and family. She is also a huge fan of the Washington football team and has even camped out overnight to get front-row seats to a game.
Together with her husband, Fumi has raised charity for the Franklin Family Educational Equity Scholarship.
Along with their family and career, Franklin’s family has also engaged themselves in social work.

The youngest daughter, Addison, affectionately called Addy, faces the challenge of sickle cell anemia. While she was fortunate not to require a bone marrow transplant, James was prepared to be her donor if necessary.
Their family experience has inspired the Franklins to support initiatives like THON and “BE THE MATCH” at Penn State, dedicated to helping children in need.
