Laurent Brossoit’s amateur career started with the Edmonton Oil Kings in the Western Hockey League (WHL). He was drafted in the second round of the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft.

He also played for the Valley West Hawks of the BCMML and the Cowichan Valley Capitals of the BCHL. Brossoit represented Team Pacific at the 2010 World U-17 Hockey Challenge.

In his WHL rookie season, he played 34 games for the Oil Kings with a 3.32 GAA and a .887 save percentage.

Brossoit had a breakout season in his second year in the WHL. He helped the Oil Kings win the WHL championship and earn a berth in the 2012 Memorial Cup.

Additionally, he was later named Canadian Hockey League (CHL) Goaltender of the Week in the WHL playoffs.

Brossoit signed an entry-level contract with the Calgary Flames in 2013 but did not see NHL action with them.

After being traded to the Edmonton Oilers, Brossoit made his NHL debut during the 2013-14 season.

Before his call-up as a backup for the Oilers, he played in the ECHL and AHL. Brossoit’s first NHL win came in 2017 while playing for the Oilers.

After five seasons with the Oilers, he signed with the Winnipeg Jets in 2018, where he earned his first NHL shutout.

Furthermore, Brossoit re-signed with the Jets in 2019 and 2020, showcasing his continued success with the team.

He was waived by the Golden Knights in 2022 and assigned to their AHL affiliate, the Henderson Silver Knights.
