The North Carolina athlete attended Wesleyan Christian Academy and later committed to play baseball at Clemson University.

Moreover, Wilson started his professional baseball journey as the 17th-round pick by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2016 MLB Draft.

Upon signing, he played for the minor league affiliate teams. He was performing at a level in Triple-A that promised a shot in the MLB.

During his time with Nashville Sounds, he developed a blood clot that required surgery. On January 11, 2023, he signed a minor league contract with the Phillies and started playing for the Triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs.

Eventually, he got promoted to the MLB after Brandon Marsh was placed on the injured list with a bruised knee.

Making his debut on August 9, 2023, Wilson hit a home run during his first career at bat while his family watched him live his dream.

The couple entered the pitch to make the ceremonial pitch in front of a crowd of 5,010 that included their family and friends.
