Ron Harper’s ex-wife, Maria Harper, raised three children, including their son Ron Jr., as a single mother after splitting from Ron in 2012.

Maria has been the sole support system for her kids since the beginning.

Ronald Harper Sr., a former American professional basketball player, and Maria met in 1998 when he was playing for the Bulls.

They fell in love, and in 2000, Maria got pregnant with Ron Jr. and moved back to New Jersey while Ron Sr. left for L.A.

Maria and Ron Sr. married on New Year’s Eve in 2005, after they had been dating on and off for a while. Three months later, Dylan was born.

Mia was born in 2010. Two years later, Maria and Ron Sr. got divorced.

Ron is currently in a relationship with Bonnie Conklin, and they have reportedly tied the knot but haven’t disclosed any info about their wedding.

Both of them have moved on in their lives, but Ron has already found love, while Maria is still focusing on her children and career.

Maria Harper is the ex-wife of Ron Harper Sr and mother of Toronto Raptors forward, Ron Harper Jr.

However, there is much more to Maria than just being a wife and mother.

She is also a former Division I player at the University of New Orleans and an accomplished basketball coach.

Maria was born in the Philippines and migrated to the US at the age of seven with her mother and younger sister.

From a young age, Maria had a natural talent for sports and used to compete with mostly older boys.

Once Maria reached high school, she focused on basketball and earned herself a scholarship to New Orleans. After college, she moved to Chicago where she began working as a basketball coach.

She later became the director of a local grassroots program called Ring City, where she helped young athletes develop their skills and reach their full potential.

In addition to her work with Ring City, Maria also became the girls’ varsity high school coach, where she continued to inspire and motivate her players.

She is now an assistant on the boys’ team at Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, New Jersey. 

Family In Basketball

The Harper family has a deep-rooted connection with basketball, as both parents and their sons are involved in the sport.

Ron Harper Sr., a former NBA player, had an impressive career. Maria, the mother, also has a basketball background, having played the sport professionally.

Their sons, Ron Jr. and Dylan have embraced the family legacy and emerged as talented basketball players in their own right.

Ron Jr. is currently a professional basketball player for the Toronto Raptors in the NBA.

Similarly, Dylan, the younger sibling, is following in their footsteps and has committed to Rutgers.

He has confirmed his spot as a top talent in college basketball’s 2024 class. He is widely regarded as one of the nation’s top recruits, thanks to his skills as a five-star combo guard from Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, N.J.
