More than Sarah, it has always been her daughter, Megan, who has been seen standing alongside her father. Megan has been working in her father’s company for several years, since high school.
Don Schumacher’s only son, Tony Schumacher, followed in his footsteps and became a legend in the drag racing scene. He was also the first one from the family to break the news of his father’s demise.
The NHRA Drag Racing car owner passed away at age 79 on Wednesday. Before his demise, Don was battling lung cancer. Only last year, Don was honored by the NHRA with the Sports’ Lifetime Achievement Award.

Don Schumacher’s wife, Sarah Schumacher, always avoided the public limelight. But she played a key role in her husband’s glorious career.
In 2019, when Don was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame, his wife was the first person he thanked. Previously, in 2015, the Don Schumacher Racing Facebook page wished Sarah on her birthday.
The social media site shared a photo of Don with Sarah and their daughter, Megan. In 2018, Don said his wife, Sarah, was surprised by his decision of wanting to donate his brain for research purposes.
And though she was taken by surprise, Sarah agreed with his decision of wanting to help drivers, soldiers, business people, and other populations of the world. Sarah is also not available on social media, unlike her kids, who have taken the reign from their dad.
Sarah is the second wife of Don Schumacher, and the racing legend was previously married to Susann Schumacher. Susann passed away in 2003. Previously, in an interview, Tony said his mother had always supported his endeavors as a drag racer.
Susann was a mother to three of Don Schumacher’s kids- Tony, Tara, and Samantha Schumacher.

Don Schumacher shared four kids with his wife, Sarah. The couple are parents to Tony, Megan, Tara, and Samantha.
Among their four kids, their two older kids, Tony and Megan, have played an active role in furthering their dad’s legacy. Tony Schumacher, the oldest of four, began racing in 1996 in the NHRA Top Fuel Class.
He is the 8x NHRA Top Fuel world champion and is the Winningest TF driver in NHRA history. From 1996 to 1997, Tony raced for the Peek Brothers before ultimately joining his dad’s team.
It was in 1998 that Don and Tony began their partnership as employer and employee. Soon after the news of his father’s demise broke, Tony took to X (formerly Twitter) to pay tribute to his father.
He shared a gallery of images and wrote, “I can not believe we lost my dad last night. I was able to spend a lot of time with him this month, and I am so grateful to have those memories with him.
Because of his hard work and passion, he helped shape our sport to be what it is today. GODSPEED.”
Tony is married to Summer Penland Schumacher and shares three kids from his previous relationship.
Megan Schumacher Is The Vice President
Don and Sarah’s daughter, Megan Schumacher, is the Vice President of Don Schumacher Racing. She began working for the team as a high-school student and would handle the team’s social media presence.
Many might not know, but Megan is Don Schumacher’s stepdaughter. She is Sarah’s daughter from her previous relationship. Megan tied the knot with Chad Osier, who serves as the President of DSM Precision MFG.
Chad was appointed in that position by his father-in-law in 2021. The couple shares a daughter named Ella, born in the same year. Megan has shared several family pictures on her Instagram handle, and the most recent one was earlier this year on Easter.
The two biological daughters of Don Schumacher are out of the public spotlight and rarely make any public appearance.
