Aljamain Sterling was born on July 31, 1989, in Uniondale, New York, to Jamaican parents.
He started his journey as a mixed martial artist in 2009 when he competed in the amateur division. Moreover, his record in the amateur division is 6-1.
Known for his fierce grappling style, the New York native was given the nickname “The Funk Master.”
Sterling debuted in the UFC ring in 2014 and has gone on to face many athletes, such as Renan Barao, Augusto Mendes, Jimmy Rivera, Brett Johns, and many others.
