Dundee United assistant manager Lee Sharp is mourning the loss of his beloved wife, Angela Sharp, who passed away on Wednesday after bravely battling an illness.
The club officially confirmed the heartbreaking news, expressing their deepest condolences to Lee and his family during this difficult time.
Sharp, 48, assumed the role of assistant manager at Dundee United Football Club in March 2023 under the guidance of manager Jim Goodwin.
With a career spanning 19 years, Sharp showcased his skills on the field, participating in over 500 games for notable football clubs.
After playing, he seamlessly transitioned into coaching, initially serving as a coach and later as the head of youth development at Clyde from 2013 for four years.
Subsequently, he spent three years at Alloa Athletic from 2016 to 2019, where he forged a coaching partnership with Jim Goodwin.
Their collaboration continued at St Mirren, where Sharp assumed the role of Goodwin’s assistant manager from 2019 to 2022.
In February 2022, the duo moved to Aberdeen, and later, in March 2023, they joined Dundee United.
Sharp’s extensive journey in both playing and coaching capacities reflects his profound dedication to the sport.

Dundee United has officially confirmed the passing of Angela, the beloved partner of Lee Sharp, the assistant manager for DUFC.
This heartbreaking announcement comes after Angela’s valiant struggle with a prolonged illness.
In a statement released on Wednesday evening, Dundee United expressed profound sorrow over the loss of Angela.
During this challenging time, the club extended heartfelt condolences to Lee Sharp and his family.

The pair had previously shared their professional journey at Alloa Athletic, St Mirren, and most recently, Aberdeen.
Mr. Sharp, a former St Mirren coach and midfielder for Dundee, and his late partner were parents to three children.
