This article was last updated by on

Devonta Smith has been listed as questionable after a no-show at Thursday’s practice session. But it isn’t a worrisome case, as the wide receiver is only down due to illness.

The Phillies fans and those who have Devonta Smith on Fantasy League do not need to take him out just yet.

The wide receiver, who hasn’t missed a single game for his team in his NFL career, is likely to start against Washington Commanders in Week 4.

Thursday’s injury reports show the wide receiver didn’t participate, and so did Justin Evans and Sydney Brown. A vital player to the squad, Smith and AJ Brown, with Jalen Hurts, have pushed the team to a 3-0 start.

Why Is Devonta Smith Questionable?

Devonta Smith was listed as questionable by ESPN and Yahoo! after he wasn’t seen at Thursday’s practice session. It was later reported that Smith had come down due to illness.

The Eagles wide receiver has been a main feature of the offensive line this season, with the QB Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown. The team has got off to a flying start to the 2023 season, winning all three games.

Despite being listed as questionable by ESPN, Smith is expected to start against the Washington Commanders in Week 4.

Friday’s injury report will give more clarity to Smith’s situation, but the Eagles fans will be hoping that their wide receiver had the perfect practice session.

But if Smith does miss the game on Sunday, it will be the first time in three seasons that an injury or illness has stopped him from taking on the field.

But it wasn’t only Smith who didn’t practice on Thursday. The Eagles’ safety Justin Evans and Sydney Brown, too were not seen in the practice session.

Devonta Smith Injury Update

Devonta Smith hasn’t missed any Eagles game with injury in his two full seasons. And he will look to continue the streak as long as he can.

In the ongoing season, Devonta Smith has 15 receptions for 206 yards. He also has made two touchdown passes.

Smith is also one of the favorite players in the fantasy league, and it’s probably best not to remove him immediately. He ranks 13th in his position and 54th overall, and this season, he has racked up 32.6 fantasy points.

If Smith is out for the Sunday game, Brown and tight end Dallas Goedert are likely to have an increase in targets.
