This year has been a standout for Lipscomb University senior guard Will Pruitt, who made his parents proud with his impressive achievements on the court and took a big step in his personal life by proposing to his girlfriend.

Will Pruitt played a vital role in helping the Lipscomb Bisons win the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament by defeating North Alabama 76-65 and earning a spot in the NCAA tournament.

In the ASUN Championship final, Will scored 17 crucial points, seven rebounds, and three assists, leading his team to victory and securing the Bison’s second-ever trip to the NCAA tournament.

Moreover, with his remarkable achievement, Will made his parents, Angie Stephens and David Jr. Pruitt, who have been his constant source of support, proud.

Angie Stephens and David Jr. Pruitt were not only there to witness their son’s incredible achievement but also had the unforgettable moment of seeing him begin a new chapter in his life—proposing to his girlfriend, Jalyn Holcomb, earlier this week on the basketball court at Allen Arena.

Pruitt planned a beautiful proposal for his girlfriend, Jalyn Holcomb, an exceptional basketball player on the Lipscomb women’s basketball team and the daughter of NFL quarterback Kelly Holcomb.

After receiving permission from Kelly to ask for his daughter’s hand in marriage, Will Pruitt worked with the school’s marketing department to set up an interview under the guise of celebrating Jalyn’s achievement, who just became Lipscomb’s all-time leading scorer.

Moreover, his parents, David and Angie, along with Jalyn’s parents, also played a key role in helping him set up the perfect moment for his engagement.

As part of the surprise, Pruitt wrote a heartfelt note for Jalyn to read at the end of the interview. She didn’t realize the note was from him until she reached the part about her being everything he was looking for in a wife.

That’s when Pruitt, holding a small box, emerged from one of the arena’s tunnels and, surrounded by his family, proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Jalyn.

Pruitt’s mother, Angie, expressed her happiness by sharing the news about her son’s engagement on social media with the caption, “Sweetest proposal ever! I’m not biased 😉!
