An emerging football running back, Will Shipley was born to his parents on August 29, 2002, in North Carolina, United States. Shipley has an older brother, James, who is also an athlete.
Originally from Weddington, Will was initially interested in NC State Wolfpack but eventually enrolled at Clemson University in South Carolina.
With that, his parents, who are NC State graduates, swapped their sides after wearing the red for so many years.
Although he has turned many relatives into Tigers fans, he believes some are still diehard Wolfpack fans.
Having started playing early, Will Shipley honed his skills at Weddington High School in North Carolina.
Despite not appearing in his senior season, he finished his school career with 80 touchdowns and 84 catches, covering 4173 rushing yards.
In his first season with the Clemson Tigers, Shipley had 11 touchdowns and 16 receptions, covering 739 rushing yards.
His stats improved as he completed the second season with 13 touchdowns and 38 receptions, covering over 1100 rushing yards.
For his performance in the 2022 season, he was named first-team All-ACC as an all-purpose player.
Similarly, he was on the watchlist for several college awards, including the Paul Hornung Award, where he became a finalist.
Will Shipley Parents: James And Tammy
James and Tammy Shipley are the parents of the Clemson Tigers football running back Will Shipley.
Born and raised in North Carolina, his dad earned a master’s degree in Sports Management from the NC State University. Previously, he studied at Catawba College.
James Sr. was a football coach at their hometown’s football organization, Weddington Titans, and seeing him training the young boys for Pop Warner later inspired both his sons.
Growing up alongside his older brother, James Jr., Will started playing football when he was four.
On the other hand, their mother, Tammy, an NC State graduate, was a little strict regarding academics and kept education above everything. So, she always made sure the boys did their assignments before they went out to play games.
Despite that, Tammy was impressed by her kids’ athletic prowess and enjoyed seeing them competing and playing games together.
Tammy was happy when Will expressed his desire to become a professional athlete while still in high school. She had seen him improve so much as a player over the years, and by then, she was convinced he could do much better in sports than academics.
Nevertheless, he decided to continue his studies at Clemson University, where he is pursuing a degree in management alongside playing college football for the Tigers.
His parents wholeheartedly support their son and are proud of what he has achieved so far. Their biggest dream now is to see Will win the national championship with Clemson and make it into the NFL following his graduation.

Additionally, his football performance garnered several accolades, including the two-time football state championship (2016 and 2018) and Charlotte Football Player of the Year.
After completing school, he moved to Philadelphia to pursue his undergraduate degree in Business from the University of Pennsylvania.
Playing for the Pennsylvania Athletics, he earned an honorable mention in All-Ivy and Second-Team All-Ivy.
