The Colfax community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Scott Gunnufson, a respected civic leader, competitive pool player, custom home designer, and devoted husband and father.

His passing has left a void in both his hometown and the tight-knit pool-playing community where he was a familiar and admired presence.

Scott Gunnufson Lived His Life With Passion And Purpose

Born and raised in Colfax, Wisconsin, Scott Gunnufson’s roots ran deep in the community he loved.

He attended Colfax High School, graduating in 1995, and subsequently pursued an extensive academic career.

Gunnufson studied Civil Engineering at Chippewa Valley and Architecture at the University of Minnesota.

He later earned both his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management (2012) and Master’s in Operations & Supply Chain Management (2020) from the University of Wisconsin–Stout.

Then, Scott founded SG Homedesign, LLC, where he specialized in designing custom homes and working as a Senior Supply Chain Analyst for Andersen Windows + Doors for over two decades.

In 2020, he added another role to his résumé as a Realtor with the Northwest Wisconsin Realty Team in Hayward, WI.

But Scott’s contribution didn’t stop with career accomplishments.

He gave back to Colfax through civic service, having proudly served three terms as Village President, and participating in several local boards.

Scott Gunnufson Was A Competitive Pool Player And Teammate

Scott had a deep love for pool tournaments, particularly competing in VNEA Pool Leagues across Wisconsin.

Friends and fellow players remember him as “the ultimate competitor and teammate,” a gentleman with sportsmanship and focus.

One friend shared in tribute,

“You will be missed but never forgotten, Scott Gunnufson. The ultimate competitor and teammate. A true gentleman on and off the table.”

Scott’s passion for the pool was matched only by his love for traveling with his wife and their son, and fixing up properties.
