Woodbridge High School football player Chrystofer Whyte lost his life in a tragic shooting.
Chrystofer Whyte was a dedicated senior football player at Woodbridge High School in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
Wearing jersey #16, he served as a cornerback on defense and a running back on offense.
During the 2022-2023 varsity season, he played three games.
On the defensive side of the ball, he recorded one solo tackle and two assisted tackles, giving him a total of three tackles for the season.
In addition to his work on defense, Chrystofer also contributed to the scoring column, finishing the season with 4 total points, averaging 1.3 points per game.
Chrystofer Whyte Was Tragically Killed In A Long Branch Shooting
A former dedicated football player and a popular TikTok star, Chrystofer Whyte from North Brunswick, was fatally shot and killed on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 18 on the beach in Long Branch.
The shooting occurred just as Tim McLoone and the Shirleys were packing up their gear after playing a free concert at Pier Village.

“We heard two loud bangs,” “And then, everyone who was on the beach started scrambling and running.”

Police in Long Branch responded at 8:58 p.m. to the beach area between the shoreline and the boardwalk of Pier Village for a report of shots fired, as per a statement issued by Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago.
However, no suspects have been identified yet.
Law enforcement officials stated that the incident was isolated and assured that there was no further threat to the public.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have been at the scene to come forward if they have video footage of the incident on their phones.
Kusger Cos., which owns Pier Village, issued a statement Friday morning.
“Kushner is saddened by the tragic loss of life, and our hearts go out to all those impacted by this tragedy. We are in constant communication with local law enforcement, which has indicated that this is an isolated incident and did not involve any residents of the Pier Village community. As we have always done, we will work to ensure the safety of our community and we appreciate all the efforts of the City of Long Branch and the Long Branch Police Department,”
