From college sweethearts to parents to five kids, Roman Reigns and his wife, Galina Becker, have been each other’s rock through all the ups and downs. A former college athlete, Galina has kept herself lowkey despite her husband’s enormous star power.
It’s been over a decade since Roman Reigns introduced himself to WWE fans.
One of three members of The Shield, Reigns became a fan favorite in no time.
After beating leukemia for a second time, Roman returned to the ring in 2020.
When he made his much-awaited return, Reigns turned into a heel, which marked the beginning of his rivalry with his cousins Jey and Jimmy Uso.
Reigns received the title of the Tribal Chief after defeating Jey in a Hell in Cell match in 2020.
Since then, Roman’s other cousin, Sola Sikoa, has tried to snatch the title from him and has crowned himself the Tribal Chief.
So, on January 6, 2025, the two clashed at WWE Raw on Netflix’s debut episode to put to bed who is the Tribal Chief.
The clash between the cousins was electric, with several WWE superstars interfering with the match.
Sami Zayn and Jimmy Uso rushed to Reigns’ aid, and Kevin Owens, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu pulled up for Sikoa.
The fight ended with Reigns delivering back-to-back spears to Sikoa and being crowned the Tribal Chief.
After the match, The Rock made a dramatic entrance and placed the Ula Fala around Reign’s neck, symbolizing and acknowledging Reigns as the true champion.
Roman Reigns And His Wife, Galina Becker Met At Georgia Tech
Many might not know, but Roman Reigns’ wife, Galina Becker, was once an athlete.
Galina was a standout women’s track and field athlete at Georgia Tech.
A 2004 article mentions Galina and two other signees as current high school standouts who would be joining Georgia Tech for the 2005-06 season.
Becker, who hails from San Jose, California, previously graduated from Mount Pleasant High School.
She placed fifth at the state championship in the long jump and sixth in the triple jump during her senior year.
But it seems Galina focused on academics over sports after joining Georgia Tech.
The TFRRS website shows that Galina last competed in 2006, her freshman year at Georgia Tech.
After graduating with a business management degree in 2009, Galina pursued a career as a fitness model.
Like his wife, Reigns was pursuing a business management degree and on his football career.
Previously, speaking to Georgia Tech Alumni Magazine, Roman said:
The two tied the knot on December 2, 2014, and recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary.
The wedding was a traditional Samoan ceremony on Disneys’ Castaway Cay, a private island and port in the Bahamas.
In a 2016 interview with WWE, the wrestler was asked about the secret of his happy romance with his wife, Galina.
Reigns quickly said there is no secret and that couples need to learn how to give and take if they want a formidable relationship.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Roman opened up about his battle with leukemia and said the first time around in 2008, he had nobody except his wife and mom.
At the time, Roman was only 22, and Galina was pregnant with their first child.
Reigns said his mom and Galina were his support system and were doing all the worrying and praying for him.
Roman Reigns And His Wife, Galina Becker, Share Five Kids
Roman and Galina are very assiduous about their family, to the point that they haven’t shared the names of four of their kids.
Their oldest child and only daughter, Joelle “JoJo” Anoa’i, was born on December 14, 2007, seven years before they tied the knot.
JoJo was present to watch her parents exchange their marriage vows and later danced with them to the song “A Whole New World” from the movie Aladdin.
JoJo has attended several award ceremonies with her superstar dad, including Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Show in 2018.
In their red carpet interview, when asked who he would want to slime, Roman pointed to his daughter.
An outspoken kid, JoJo answered some of the interviewer’s questions, including what subject she does the best in school, to which she replied, “Lunch.”
Reign nodded in agreement and said that was also his favorite subject growing up.
He added that, hopefully, JoJo will pick up a sport she enjoys and excel at it.
In November 2016, Galina and Roman welcomed their first set of twin boys.
Speaking with TMZ in 2020, Roman said his children were the reasons for his departure from WrestleMania 36.
