WWE wrestler Sonya Deville and her wife, Toni Cassano, aren’t shy about sharing their love on social media. Deville is the first openly gay woman in WWE and recently spoke about accidentally coming out.
Deville, 31, began her career in WWE from the show Tough Enough in 2015.
Though she was eliminated in the early rounds, Deville still managed to bag a contract with WWE and was assigned to NXT.
She made her in-ring debut on the August 17, 2015, episode of NXT, competing in a six-woman tag team match alongside Mandy Rose and Alexa Bliss.
After a year of hiatus, Deville returned in 2017 and began competing regularly until mid-2020, when she again decided to take a break.
She resumed wrestling in mid-2022 and was drafted to WWE Raw in 2023.
Soon after joining the Raw brand, Deville and Chelsea Green partnered to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
The two defeated Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez to win the belt.
Sadly, Deville suffered an ACL injury, and Piper Niven declared herself the one-half of Tag Team Champions, replacing Deville.
Recently, Sonya participated in the Women’s Royal Rumble and was the 13th entrant in the highly anticipated event.
Though she didn’t win the event, Deville has said she wants to grow alongside the company and become an integral part of it.
