Xavier Gipson Parents: Who Are Stacey Gipson And Shametlea Britt?

This article was last updated by on

American professional football player Xavier Gipson is the only son of his parents, Stacey Gipson and Shametlea Britt. However, he has many half-siblings through his father, Stacey Wayne Gipson.

Xavier was mostly raised by his mother, Shametlea, as a single parent. Nevertheless, his dad, a Texas native, visited his Xavier often and had an important role in shaping his career.

After making it into the NFL, he thanked everyone who stood by him throughout his journey. However, he called his mom first when the Jets included him in the 53-men roster in August this year.

Xavier Gipson is an American professional football wide receiver who plays for the New York Jets of the National Football League.

On May 5, 2023, the Jets signed him as a free agent, despite being unpicked in the 2023 draft.

Just before starting his professional football career, Xavier was a student-athlete at Stefen F. Austin State University in Texas.

Besides studying business, the wide receiver played four seasons of college football for the Lumberjacks.

On September 11, 2023, he debuted for the Jets in a match against the Buffalo Bills, where he returned a 65-yard punt to score the game-winning touchdown.

With that, he became the first player to record a punt-return touchdown in the league since 2011.

Xavier Gipson’s Parents: Who are Stacey And Shametlea?

The rising NFL player Xavier Gipson was born to his parents, Stacey and Shametlea, on March 8, 2001, in Dallas, Texas.

Although Xavier was their only child, his dad, Stacey, had many kids from his other relationships.

Gipson’s parents were never married, so he was born out of wedlock. In fact, Shametlea Britt was only seventeen when she gave birth to Xavier.

Shametlea Britt, also known as Meka Britt, was born in Dallas, Texas on May 14, 1984. Besides, nothing much about her is known.

Discussing more about his father, he was originally from Texas and raised in Dallas with his siblings, Chris and Shun Peaches Gipson.

As a teen, he later attended Plain Dealing High School in Louisiana. After graduation, he enrolled in Grambling State University for higher education, but it is unclear whether he obtained a degree.

New York Jets wide receiver previously served in the United States Navy and is currently working as the coach for the East Dallas Desperados football team.

Although Meka and Stacey broke up long ago, Xavier has maintained a good relationship with both of them.

Similarly, his half-siblings like watching his game, and almost all his family members often visit the stadium to cheer him up during his games.

Gipson’s Brother Montre Is A Basketball Player

One of Xavier Gipson’s half-brothers, Montre Gipson, is a basketball player.

Born to his parents, Monica Mixon and Stacey, in DeSoto, Texas, Gipson played high school basketball for Waxahachie High School’s basketball team under head coach Greg Gober.

While in school, he received several honors, including the 2018 TABC All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year twice.

After graduating, he played collegiate basketball for three teams in four years, including Tarleton University in his junior and senior years.

He eventually graduated with a degree in kinesiology from Tarleton in 2022.

Montre later obtained his master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

He signed a one-year deal with the KK Gostivar of the Macedonian Basketball League in July 2023.
