Portuguese soccer player Youssef Chermiti feels blessed to have supportive parents who helped him scale heights in club soccer. The youngster rose to prominence after his debut for Sporting CP against the Benefica in January this year.

Following the match, the manager Ruben Amorim made a huge statement saying Chermiti is one of his three primary strikers, hinting that he would give more playtime to the rising athlete in the future.

However, his dad, Noureddine Chermiti, later revealed that his son remained unhappy throughout the weekend just because he could not score a goal to secure a win for his team.

After all, he had entered the field at the last hour.

A fan of the Sporting Club since childhood, Youssef enrolled in the youth academy of various clubs, including ACF Pauleta and OS Mariences, before joining his dream club in 2016.

He finally debuted for Sporting’s B team in 2021 and scored a goal in 16 matches. After his senior team debut this year, the player has already played 16 games and scored three goals.

Moreover, Chermiti has appeared in various international tournaments, representing the Portuguese national team of different age groups.

Youssef Chermiti recently made it to the news headlines in the UK as the English club Everton showed an interest in him. According to some popular media, the English side has already agreed to sign the young Portuguese striker.

Youssef Ramalho Chermiti, better known as Youssef Chermiti, was born on May 24, 2004, in Vila do Porto, Azores, Portugal. He is the son of a Tunisian father and a Cape Verdean mother, thus making him of mixed heritage.

Aside from Youssef, his parents have two other children- Maryam and Yasminne. Maryam is also an athlete. She played in various tournaments for the Portuguese national team from 2015 to 2018.

In addition, she played a season in the EuroCup Women for the Uniao Sportiva in 2017. She primarily played as a power forward.

Youssef was also an athlete like his older sister, but he had a different thing in mind. Growing up in a soccer-loving community in the Azores, he began playing the game at a young age.

To his luck, his dad, Noureddine, also aspired to be a soccer player in the past, and his dad’s love for the game landed him in the youth academy at the young age of nine. Since then, his father has been a mentor and coach at home.

Now that the young player has made it to the country’s biggest league, Noureddine manages all his son’s affairs besides his games, including club contracts and brand deals.
