Jaycee Michelle Parent, a high school varsity soccer player from Toledo, Ohio, has died, leaving behind her loving parents and sister.
Jaycee was an honors student who planned to attend Hocking College in fall 2026 for Wildlife Resource Management.
She enjoyed art, music, playing guitar and ukulele, Bible quizzing, and outdoor activities like fishing and motocross.
She was an excellent Bible quizzer, qualifying for the national team of the Nazarene Youth Quizzing competition two consecutive years.
Additionally, she also participated in her school’s girls’ varsity soccer team and competed with horses at the Allen County Fair.
Toledo, Ohio, Community Mourns the Sudden Death of 17-Year-Old Jaycee Michelle Parent!
Jaycee was born on April 29, 2008, in Lima, Ohio, to parents Cindy Kosier and Jason Parent.
On Saturday, January 3, 2026, Jaycee passed away unexpectedly after a short illness.
Following her sudden passing, many of her admirers, friends, and family have expressed their grief and sympathy to the Parent family.
However, her sister, Jaymin Parent, who admired Jaycee the most, became quite emotional and shared a heartfelt post expressing her sorrow.
In the post, she remembered the memories she shared with Jaycee and wrote:
i don’t know what to say… nothing i say will bring you back so i guess it doesn’t really matter anyway. this isn’t fair. please come back. i’m begging you, please come back. i love you so so much. i love you. i wish i said that more. you were so beautiful. you were so so beautiful. i know Cube is taking good care of you up there. i always said she was an angel but that’s got a whole new meaning now. i’m not saying goodbye.. so i guess this is see you later. please know that i love you. i really really love you. visit me in any way you can. i don’t know how that works but if you can, please do. i’m really going to miss you. fly high Sis. i love you
Jaycee’s sister, Jaymin, was the one who inspired her to compete in the Allen County Fair, where she showed several horses and won many competitions in a variety of categories over the span of four years.
Following Jaycee’s passing, not just the family, but the entire community seems to be in a deep mourning phase.
To process their grief, the family has scheduled a public visitation on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio.
Following that, a Homegoing Celebration will take place on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 3:30 p.m., at Redemption Church, 8605 Salisbury Rd., Monclova, Ohio.
While the community and family process this loss, we would also like to express our heartfelt condolences to the Parent family, friends, and everyone who knew Jaycee.
