Former Stanford University Football Head Coach Troy Taylor and His Wife, Tracey Taylor, Share Three Kids!

This article was last updated by on

Troy Taylor has been married to Tracey for a long time. The couple has two sons, Noah and Aaron, and a daughter, Ella.

Tracey has been nothing but a supportive partner throughout Troy’s coaching career, which has spanned high school, college, and professional levels.

Troy’s early coaching career saw him climb the stairs at the high school level, most notably at Folsom High School in Sacramento.

During those years, Tracey stood beside Troy’s side while he honed his craft on the field. Likewise, she has shown her support in several instances.

For example: In 2016, Troy thought about leaving his coaching job at Folsom High School to take a college coaching position at Eastern Washington, even though it meant earning much less money.

Despite the financial challenges, Tracey encouraged him and showed her faith in his career goals.

She was all in,” Troy once recalled in an interview showing his gratitude and acknowledging her contributions in his life.

Troy’s career trajectory eventually led him to Stanford University, where he took over as head football coach in December 2022.

Moving to Palo Alto was a new challenge for the Taylor family. Troy and his sons, Noah and Aaron, settled into life at Stanford. Aaron even played as a quarterback under his dad’s coaching. Meanwhile, Tracey and Ella stayed in Sacramento for a while before joining them.

Even from a distance, Tracey supported Troy through every thick and thin.

Troy and Tracey’s Son, Aaron, Followed In His Father’s Footsteps!

Aaron Taylor, the middle child, has followed directly in his father’s footsteps.

A quarterback like Troy, who played the position at Cal and briefly in the NFL, Aaron joined Stanford’s football team as a player under his father’s coaching.

Enrolling as a freshman in 2023, Aaron arrived with promise, having been a standout at Folsom High School, where Troy had previously coached.

Aaron’s time at Stanford was tough for the football program. The team faced challenges, winning only 6 games and losing 18 over two seasons. Despite this, Aaron worked hard and grew as a quarterback during these difficult times.

Meanwhile, Troy’s firing on March 25, 2025, following allegations of misconduct and poor performance, leaves Aaron’s future at Stanford uncertain.
