Youth Basketball Coach Emmanuel Bilson Passed Away In A Reported Targeted Shooting!

Emmanuel Bilson, a 22‑year‑old former High School player, was killed in a burst of gunfire on Rice Street just after midnight.

Police say the shooting happened around 12:40 a.m. Saturday in the 900 block, where Bilson was found slumped behind the wheel of his silver Honda Civic after being struck multiple times.

Despite CPR efforts from bystanders and paramedics, he was pronounced dead at Regions Hospital less than twenty minutes later.

Surveillance video shows a dark sedan pulling alongside his car at a red light before someone inside fired at least nine rounds and sped away.

Detectives are calling this a targeted attack.

St. Paul Community in Mourning Following Emmanuel Bilson’s Untimely Passing!

A 2021 graduate of Johnson High School, Emmanuel Bilson was a St. Paul native remembered as both an athlete and a mentor.

Beyond the field, he balanced academics with hard work, holding down jobs at Amazon and as a weekend security guard at Como Park to support his single mother.

Even with such responsibilities, he coached youth basketball at Arlington Hills Community Center.

A GoFundMe campaign titled Support Emmanuel Bilson’s Final Farewell” has been organized by Kojo Frimpong of St. Paul, MN.

The purpose of this campaign is to help Emmanuel’s family manage the financial responsibilities of his funeral and memorial after his tragic death.

The organizer, Kojo Frimpong of St. Paul, explained that the family is facing the painful task of arranging Emmanuel’s farewell.
