A Great Former Trojan Athlete Timothy Mobley Passed Away, Leaving Behind His Family and The Entire Trojan Community!

A former Quitman High School Trojan athlete and U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Timothy Mobley, passed away in November 2025.

While the cause of his passing has not been publicly shared, Timothy Mobley will be remembered for his service and devotion to his community.

Family and the Trojan Community are Mourning the Loss of Timothy Mobley!

A beloved member of the Quitman, Georgia, Timothy Mobley, was a standout athlete at Quitman High School.

During his years at Quitman from 1975 to 1978, he excelled as a wide receiver in football and as a catcher in baseball.

He later returned to Brooks County High School as part of its staff, contributing to the school that had shaped his early years.

Though his hometown ties remained strong, he eventually settled in Carrollton, Georgia.

Later, he served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps, rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6) before deciding not to re-enlist.

Following his time in Los Angeles, he returned to Quitman, where his devotion to Trojan athletics never wavered.

He also attended football, basketball, baseball, and track events, helping with equipment, practices, and cheering on the teams.

Timothy Mobley’s passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the entire Trojan community.

One of Timothy Mobley’s closest friends shared a heartfelt tribute, saying:

That was my guy! I always will remember him in my heart as one of my greatest friends, no I mean my brother for life! We shared so much growing up together in our little neighborhood! You might as well call Mrs. Ella our mom and they could call Mrs. Cherry theirs! We were just that close! I will miss you so much! Until we meet again! Gone but not forgotten! RIP my brother!

Likewise, another one said:

So sorry to hear about the loss of Timothy Mobley. May his family and friends find strength during this difficult time.Class of 1978!!! Rip Timothy.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Timothy Mobley’s family, friends, and well-wishers.
