Kelly Snell, a former Ferris State University Footballer, passed away unexpectedly in January 2026.

He made a name for himself in academics and athletics while growing up in White Cloud.

Kelly Snell graduated from White Cloud High School, where he left a lasting mark on the school’s sports and community.

He was a rare three-sport letter winner in football, basketball, and baseball. In baseball, he was a three-year starter named to All-District, All-Area, and All-Conference teams.

On the basketball court, he was a two-year starter, and his high school described him as the most athletic guard in the area, helping lead his team to conference and district titles.

His biggest impact may have been in football. He was named team co-captain and MVP on both offense and defense and was selected for the MHSFCA All-Star team.

Beyond sports, Kelly was a dedicated leader, serving as both Class President and Student Council President for three years while participating in community activities.

He earned a football scholarship to continue his education and athletic career at Ferris State University. His performance on the field reflected his tireless work ethic, discipline, and leadership.

Sad day as we mourn the loss of a Dawg legend. Kelly Snell passed early today. He was a 4 year starter at corner. Started as a true freshmen. He will be missed. RIP#7

R.I.P. Kelly Snell 💔 😢 I admired Kelly so, wanted to be just like him on the gridiron, copied everything he did, even down to getting my degree in education. Best athlete I’d ever seen across all generations. I’am devastated, you will be missed, love you brother.
