Australian Football League (AFL) is in hot water after a series of naked images has been leaked on the internet.
The organization is currently investigating a significant breach involving the unauthorized distribution of explicit images involving over 45 past and present players.
These images saw illicit shares on various social media platforms. Concerns have arisen that the extensive leak may have been orchestrated by organized criminals as part of a ‘sextortion’ scheme.
The incident involves the dissemination of a Google Drive file that purportedly contains compromising content of AFL players, including notable award winners such as Brownlow Medal recipients.
The file includes screenshots, photographs, and videos allegedly featuring these players.
Who Leaked The Images?
According to police sources, this data dump is the result of a large-scale ‘sextortion’ operation orchestrated by cunning criminals who targeted unsuspecting footballers.
The published link accompanying each player’s name leads to a folder containing explicit and graphic material supposedly involving them.
The file seems to have been uploaded in July of the previous year under the username ‘Suesomebodiesbusiness.’
South Australia Police confirmed that they have started their investigation into the matter but declined to comment further.
The AFL has been collaborating with the eSafety Commissioner in an effort to remove explicit images from various social media platforms.
Players And Fans Are In Shock By The Leak
The shocking incident generated a sense of shock and fear among both AFL fans and players.
It has once again highlighted the importance of safety and privacy concerns in today’s digital world. The disturbing nature of this event has reignited discussions surrounding privacy issues.
According to a player, who is a victim of the scandal, the breach of privacy is deeply troubling and unfair.
It is crucial to address this matter promptly and efficiently to prevent the recurrence of similar mistakes in the future.
Taking swift action is necessary to ensure the protection of individual privacy and to prevent such incidents from happening repeatedly.
