On Wednesday, Antonio “AJ” Armstrong Jr. was pronounced guilty of capital murder for the 2016 fatal shootings of his parents, Antonio Armstrong Sr. and Dawn Armstrong.
During the courtroom proceedings, he displayed no emotional reaction, while his wife Kate was seen shedding tears once the verdict was announced.
Over the seven years between the homicides and the current verdict of guilt, Armstrong got married to Kate Ober, his high school sweetheart.
Around the late spring of 2014, Kate became romantically involved with AJ, and despite them being in high school, they quickly fell in love.
Later on, they gave birth to their son, Hendrix Antonio Armstrong.
As Armstrong was taken away after the sentencing, Kate was consoled by her husband’s legal team present in court.
Interestingly, during his initial trial, Ober even provided testimony in support of Armstrong.
Kate Ober Is A Model
Kate is living out her childhood dream by working as a model, aiming to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry.
Her passion for fashion was always present. To turn that into a profession, she enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City.
However, at the age of 16 and still a student at Cinco Ranch High School, flying to New York wasn’t a simple task.
Her parents took charge and organized a trip to New York, which included a visit to FIT. After the trip, they realized how dedicated Kate was to the fashion world.
This prompted her mother to start reaching out to agency leaders via email to help kickstart Kate’s modeling career.
She is now an accomplished model, signed with the reputable Houston modeling agency, Neal Hamil.
Her portfolio includes walking the runway for esteemed names like Neiman Marcus, Saks, Tootsies, Runway Houston, Loro Piana, and Alice and Olivia.
From what we can gather, the former high school cheerleader finds joy in her relatively recent role as a mother and is passionate about her work.
It seems likely that she will continue to balance both aspects of her life for as long as possible.

Following two earlier mistrials, Antonio Armstrong Jr. received the guilty verdict on Wednesday. He has the chance of parole after 40 years.
The Houston jury spent roughly 10 hours deliberating after a capital murder trial that spanned 11 days, involving over 40 hours of testimony from 31 witnesses.
Due to his status as a minor during the time of the homicides, he was exempt from the potential of receiving the death penalty.
AJ was accused of shooting his parents, who were both 42 years old. In 2016, while Dawn and Antonio Sr. were asleep in their Texas residence, they were each shot in the head with pillows found covering their faces.
A few hours after the incident, Armstrong was apprehended.
Numerous relatives, including Armstrong’s sister, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, were present at the trial to offer their support.
His sister Kayra, who was 12 years old when their parents were killed, and his paternal grandmother Kay Winston provided testimony in favor of the defense.
