Alexander Mattison and his wife, Drea, are the proud parents of a baby girl whom they named Alayah Mattison.
Drea and Alexander have been together since high school. Alexander has always had Andrea’s full support and understanding of all of his decisions.
California-born Alexander is a running back for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League. The Vikings chose the player in the third round of the NFL Draft 2019 with 102nd overall.
In the opening game of the 2019 regular season against the Falcons, Alexander made his NFL debut.
Additionally, the running back played college football at Boise State, where he ran for 1,415 yards on 302 attempts with 17 touchdowns in 13 games as a junior in 2018.
After running for 200 yards and scoring in the 2018 Mountain West Conference Football Championship Game, he received the game’s offensive MVP title.
Despite having to undergo offseason operations on his shoulder and ankle, Mattison didn’t miss a single game during college.

The duo announced their pregnancy on April 22, 2022. Later, on September 9, 2022, Contreras and Mattison gave birth to their little angel.
Alexander wrote a beautiful caption saying he was very grateful for the support system and all the doctors and nurses who did a fantastic job.

Alexander Mattison was born to mother Pearl and father Darrell Mattison. Darrell Mattison is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
The military background helped him parent his children with more focus on discipline.
Darrell lived in Dayton but later moved to California with family just a few months before the player was born.
In 2019, Mattison stated to the Twin Cities Pioneer Press that his mother, Pearl Mattison, moved to Eagan, Minnesota, to help him adjust to his new life.
Mattison’s parents had filed for divorce then.
Alexander, A Victim of Racism
As a reaction to his performance in the Minnesota Vikings’ 34-28 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles on September 14, 2023, Alexander Mattison suffered racist comments from fans.
He shared two screenshots of threatening direct messages that directed him to kill himself. As a response, the player wrote:
“I really could care less. But this sh*t is unacceptable. Really reflect on what you say and how it could affect someone. Under the helmet, I am a human—a father—a son. This is sick,” he wrote on Instagram.
Both the NFL and the Vikings posted statements in favor of Mattison on social media.
