Late Alexandra Paul exchanged wedding vows with her lovely husband, Mitchell Islam, a retired ice skater.

The couple was in a romantic relationship for many years before they tied the knot in September 2021, and their son was born the following year.

Alexandra’s skating career took off when she and her then-partner Jason Cheperdak secured the third position in junior ice dancing at the 2009 Canadian Figure Skating Championships.

In the 2009-2010 ice skating season, she joined forces with Mitchell Islam.

The duo officially teamed up in 2009 and clinched the junior ice dance title at the Canadian national championships.

They earned a silver medal at the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships a year later.

Their partnership continued to flourish, culminating in their participation in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Throughout their senior career, Paul and Islam consistently performed well, winning the bronze medal at the national championships in 2011, 2014, and 2015.

He thanked their fans for their support and looked forward to their future endeavors.

Following her retirement from skating, Alexandra pursued a law degree, and in 2021, she became a practicing attorney as an associate lawyer at Barriston Law.

She earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Windsor Law School the same year.

Before that, both skaters graduated with bachelor’s degrees from Oakland University in Michigan.

Mitchell now works as a skating coach, where he shares his knowledge and past experiences.

While waiting in a queue of vehicles with her son, Alexandra Paul died in a devastating accident on Tuesday.

The incident occurred during road construction just outside Melancthon, Ontario.

A tractor-trailer, unable to stop, entered the construction area and struck the stationary cars, resulting in her fatality.

According to the Ontario Provincial Police, the truck failed to decelerate and collided with seven vehicles.

A GoFundMe campaign was established to support Islam as he faced raising Charlie as a single father after his wife’s loss.

The campaign has garnered $203,703 in donations with the target of $40,000.
