Antonio Giovinazzi’s parents, Vito and Anna Giovinazzi, raised two kids in Martina Franca, Italy.
Vito Giovinazzi previously worked as a representative for a transport company. In an interview with Corriere, Antonio said his father would always try his best to find the right sponsor, talking about him first before his work.
His father, Vito, also doesn’t let people forget the hard work his son had to put in to reach his current level. Speaking to Gazetta in 2021, Vito said many people come up to him to compliment his son’s humbleness.
The father of two said his son knows how to keep his head down and not let the outside world infiltrate his mind. A huge racing fan, Vito wanted his son to excel in racing from a young age.
Antonio received his first kart at two, which was a 38cc petrol kart. As said by his dad, in the beginning, Antonio would be scared by the engine’s noise but later started to warm up to it.
During the interview, Vito also recalled when the Mercedes Team Principal and CEO, Toto Wolff, called with an offer to sign Antonio before joining Ferrari. But a big fan of Ferarri since a little kid, Antonio decided against the move.
