Arizona Wildcats’ Koa Peat comes from a family of athletes, with both parents involved in sports. His father, Todd Peat, played as an NFL offensive guard for nine seasons, including with the Arizona Cardinals.

Born on January 20, 2007, Koa Peat attended Perry High School in Gilbert, Arizona, and joined the varsity basketball team in June 2021.

During his high school career, he played primarily as a forward and was named Arizona Gatorade Player of the Year in his senior season.

Additionally, he participated in the elite AAU circuits and the USA Basketball U19 team, gaining national recognition.

Following his rising career, Koa Peat joined the Arizona Wildcats in 2025 after committing to the program in March 2025.

Arizona Wildcats Forward Koa Peat Has Supportive Parents, With Father a Former NFL Offensive Guard and Mother a College Basketball Player

Koa Peat is one of the seven children of NFL offensive guard Todd Peat and high school athlete Jana Peat.

Koa is the youngest of the seven. He was raised in a sports-oriented family, with both his parents and older siblings having athletic backgrounds.

His father, Marion Todd Peat Sr. (born May 20, 1964), spent six seasons in the NFL with the St. Louis/Phoenix Cardinals and the Los Angeles Raiders.

Todd Peat was drafted by the Cardinals in the 11th round of the 1987 NFL Draft, 285th overall.

He also played for the Frankfurt Galaxy in the World League of American Football (WLAF) in 1995.

Koa’s father, Todd Peat, is also a prostate cancer patient and has shared his journey with the Arizona Center for Cancer Care.

On the other hand, not much professional information is known about his mother, Jana Peat. What is known is that she played basketball, volleyball, and softball in high school.

Following the family tradition of sports, Koa gained an edge from the beginning, leading him to NCAA Division I basketball.

Koa often credits his family, especially both parents, for their unwavering support and guidance on his path to American basketball.
