Malcolm Simmons Faces Uncertain Future with Auburn Tigers After July 2025 Arrest!

Wide receiver Malcolm Simmons was arrested on July 16, 2025, in Lee County, Alabama, and charged with domestic assault for strangling or suffocating.

On July 16, 2025, Malcolm Simmons was arrested in Lee County, Alabama, and charged with domestic assault involving strangulation or suffocation, a serious felony charge.

According to reports, he was booked into the Lee County Jail at 6:20 p.m., and his bond was set at $20,000.

This charge is considered a Class B felony under Alabama law, which means if convicted, Malcolm could face between two and 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $30,000.

The arrest has raised concerns for the Auburn Tigers football program, as Malcolm was expected to be a key player in the 2025 season after a strong freshman year in 2024, where he caught 40 passes for 451 yards and three touchdowns.

So far, no specific details about the incident leading to his arrest have been made public, and the Auburn football program has not yet commented on the situation.

A video reportedly showing the alleged assault has circulated online, according to some sources, but further details are still unclear.

This arrest is the second for an Auburn football player in a short time, following the arrest of linebacker DJ Barber on drug-related charges earlier in July.

Barber was dismissed from the team, but it’s not yet clear if Malcolm will face similar consequences. The case is ongoing, and more information may come out as it progresses in court.

For now, Malcolm’s future with the Auburn Tigers remains uncertain, and the team is preparing for the 2025 season, which starts on August 29 against Baylor.
