The international soccer player Aymeric Laporte married his long-time girlfriend, Sara Botello, in June 2023.
In a grand wedding held among his close friends and relatives in Spain, the famed defender only invited two teammates from his club Manchester City.
Among them, the City striker Erling Haaland appeared with his girlfriend, Isabel Johansen, to bless the newlywed couple.
Speaking more of them, Aymeric and Sara already have a son, born out of wedlock. While he resides in England, his wife splits her time between Manchester and her hometown, Bilbao.
Aymeric Laporte is a Spanish professional soccer player who plays left-back for the Spanish national football team.
Born to a family of Basque descent in Agen, France, Laporte initially represented France in numerous tournaments for various age groups deciding to play for Spain. Beginning in 2021, he played 22 games for Spain, scoring a goal in all competitions.
Aside from his national team career, Aymeric is one of Europe’s most successful soccer defenders.
He was part of the Atletico Bilbao team that won the 2015 Supercopa de Espana, Bilbao’s first silverware in 31 years. Besides, he won five EPL titles and a UEFA Champions League with Manchester City.
Aymeric’s Girlfriend Turned Wife: Sara Botello
The Spanish soccer defender, Aymeric Laporte, is married to his long-term girlfriend, Sara Botello. After years of dating, the duo exchanged vows on June 25, 2023.
The French-born star athlete had first come to Spain around 2010.
Aymeric was already a primary defender for Atletico Bilbao when he first met Sara Botello around 2016. As a soccer fan from Bilbao, Sara knew Aymeric and was immediately into him when the soccer star approached her.
Born and raised in Bilbao, Sara Botello is a trained dancer specializing in ballet and contemporary dance.
Aside from performing at dance shows in her hometown, she previously worked as a cheerleader for the basketball club Bilbao Basket.
Laporte and Sara were open about their relationship and shared pictures on their social media handles.
After being together for almost six years, the couple welcomed their first child, Lucay, in August 2022.
Aymeric later announced his birth through his Instagram handle, captioning, “There’s a new Cityzen in town: LUCAY, Mom, dad & baby are doing well, we are both very proud and thankful for this incredible moment. Thank you for the warm wishes.”
Laporte’s Younger Brother Is Also A Pro Soccer Player
Aymeric Laporte was born to his parents, Lionel and Agnes, on May 27, 1994. Besides him, his parents had his sister, Alexia, and a younger brother, Leo Laporte.
Born in 2004, Aymeric Laporte’s younger brother is also a professional soccer player. Unlike his older brother, Leo plays as a striker and occasionally as a winger.
Leo turned professional in 2020 at 16. After finishing his youth career, he signed his first professional contract for the Deportivo Alaves in October 2018.
Following the deal, he expressed his happiness on his Insta handle, writing, “I am happy to announce that I have signed my first professional contract at @deportivoalaves I would like to thank my parents, brothers and sisters, family and loved ones for following me so far.”
However, he is not with the club anymore.
The younger brother of the star soccer player is active on Instagram and has over 7.5k followers as of this writing.
