On January 6, 2021, Bailey posted a heartfelt letter on Twitter to his NCSU Family. In addition, he announced that he had enrolled himself in the transfer portal on the Twitter post, making him available for grad transfer.

Likewise, the letter includes his gratitude and thankfulness to his NCSU coaches, teammates, and staff.

Bailey specifically thanked coach Doeren and Beck for helping and molding him to become a better person.

Reason for Transfer

Although Hockman led the Wolfpack to an eight-win season, he had underperformed in many games.

As per his father and coach, Kyle Hockman, the transfer to Middle Tennesse comes due to Bailey’s team involvement.

Kyle revealed that Bailey’s involvement as a starting quarterback was off the paper. His father strongly felt that Bailey wasn’t receiving enough support.

Moreover, Bailey wanted to become an integral part of the team, which looked unlikely after each game.

Bailey’s place in the team was challenged by quarterback Devin Leary who is in his sophomore year, and quarterback Ben Finley, a freshman.

Alongside these two quarterbacks, four-star rated Aaron McLaughlin also is a candidate for the same position.

Bailey felt that he needed to go somewhere where he could flourish and contribute significantly.

Middle Tennessee Football Stats 

In 2021, he played as a quarterback for the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders Football team. The team is a part of Middle Tennessee State University.
