13-Year-Old Battle Creek, Michigan Resident and Standout Basketball Player KeAndre Devon Hale Dies After Experiencing a Medical Emergency at Northwestern Academy of Visual & Performing Arts

The Battle Creek, Michigan, community is mourning the untimely death of a beloved resident and standout student-athlete, KeAndre Devon Hale.

KeAndre Devon Hale passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at an untimely age of 13, leaving his family and loved ones devastated.

According to reports, KeAndre Hale, a student-athlete at Northwestern Academy of Visual & Performing Arts, was immediately rushed to the hospital after experiencing a medical emergency during a physical education class.

He took his last breath at the hospital, said the Battle Creek Public Schools in their official statement.

Furthermore, the untimely death of KeAndre Devon Hale has left a profound void in the lives of his loved ones. He touched the lives of many with his amazing basketball skills and his cheerful nature.

To honor the loss of their beloved student-athlete, Northwestern Academy of Visual & Performing Arts gave a holiday on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, and provided grief support for loved ones.

“We are heartbroken for the family, for our students, staff, and our community. We ask our community to keep their thoughts and prayers with the family of the student, and with the students and staff of Northwestern Academy of Visual & Performing Arts.”

Battle Creek Community Has Created a GoFundMe To Support KeAndre’s Family

Many of KeAndre Devon Hale’s loved ones are recalling his memories on social media and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

Similarly, the Battle Creek, Michigan, community has also created a GoFundMe to support KeAndre Devon Hale’s family and ease their financial burden as they navigate the loss and plan the funeral and memorial services for him.

The fundraiser aims to raise $10k, and to date, around $4,429k has been raised.

Loved ones remember KeAndre as a “vibrant child who was living his best life at school, enjoying basketball with friends.

KeAndre is survived by his parents, his siblings, and the entire family. His family will soon provide details about his funeral and memorial services.

His elder brother, Andre Hale, shared several beautiful pictures of KeAndre on social media and paid tribute ho him.

KeAndre Devon Hale’s kind and cheerful nature and his amazing athletic skills will always be remembered in the community.
