Billy Napier, an American football coach, shares the same passion for coaching with his younger brother Matt, and his other brother, Kurt Napier.
The second-born, Matt, coached at Callaway High School for more than a decade. Similarly, the other brother, Kurt, is Murray County High School’s head football coach.
William Hall Napier, widely known as Billy Napier, is an American football coach currently serving as a head coach at the University of Florida. He also played football at Murray County High School as a quarterback under his father’s coaching.
However, his coaching career began in 2003 at Clemson as a graduate assistant. Billy then joined South Carolina State as a QB coach and moved back to Clemson within a year.
Then, in 2011 Napier started as an offensive analyst at Alabama and then moved to Colorado State in 2012 as a QB coach and assistant head coach.
After a four-year stint as Alabama’s WR coach, Billy became offensive coordinator at Arizona State in 2017.
As the 29th football head coach at the University of Louisiana, he recorded three consecutive 10+ win seasons and two seasons finishing in the AP Poll.
Additionally, Billy was also named two times Sun Belt Coach of the Year, including four Sun Belt West Divisions.

The second-born Napier brother, Matt, works as the head football coach at LaGrange High School. He graduated from the University of West Georgia with a degree in Physical Education.
Later, he started a coaching career at Eastside High School before moving to Callaway High School as the Offensive Coach cum Quarterback Coach.
The Cavaliers had played in the state playoffs every year since 2006 under head coach Pete Wiggins and with Napier leading the offense alongside him.
They had advanced to the state semifinals three times since 2013.
After 15 seasons with the Callaway, Napier joined LaGrange as its fourth head coach in January 2020.
Brother Kurt Napier
The youngest among three brothers, Kurt, like his older brothers, is also into a coaching career. Kurt is the head football coach for Murray County High School.
Previously, he was the head coach at Gladden Middle School.
Napier took over the program in February 2022. Kurt’s father, Bill Napier, also coached at the same school from 1991 to 2006.
Kurt Napier is aware of the legacy his family name has. He believes that by adding his own to the legacy, he can best honor it.
“I will always be connected to my family and trying to carry on my dad’s legacy,” Napier said in an interview. “But I’m also building it in my own way.”

The father of Billy Napier, Bill, is the former head coach at Murray County High School.
He served there from 1991 to 2006 as the winningest football coach in the high school’s history.
The coach has four children with his wife Pam, who worked as a bookkeeper at Coker Elementary School in Murray County.
Bill’s legacy lives on through his children: Billy, Matt, Kurt, and Whitney, all of whom are in the footsteps of their father.
The eldest one, Billy, lives with his wife Ali and their three children Annie, 10, Sammy, 8, and Charlie, 6.
