Brian Boog Greenway, affectionately known as Boog, passed away on September 28, leaving a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the Dudley community.

His daughter, Emily Greenway, shared the heartbreaking news, reflecting on the immense love and impact her father had throughout his life.

Boog had been battling interstitial lung disease and COPD and had been considering a lung transplant.

In the days before his death, he remained on a ventilator, heavily sedated to allow his lungs to rest.

Emily described trying to bring moments of joy to her father, playing music, sharing jokes, and simply being present in his final days.

He was stubborn, a fighter, and still a pain in the ass in the best way,” Emily wrote, acknowledging the love and prayers that supported him during his illness.

Friends and community members mourned the loss as well.

Caitlyn Crowe recalled Boog’s role as a mentor, coach, and “second dad,” celebrating his energy, guidance, and the countless memories he created with those around him. She said,

“The Dudley community has lost one of the best men out there! So many stories to tell… We love you so much, Boog.”

His laughter, energy, and steadfast love left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Emily concluded her tribute with a poignant reflection on her father’s life and influence:

“The world is forever more dim without his big laugh, his energy, and his steady love. We made sure he knew how deeply he was cherished in his final moments, and we will carry that love forward. I will miss my daddy for the rest of my life.”
