This talented young man was born in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was born to his parents, Bob Koepka and Denise Jakows, on May 3, 1990.

Four years after his birth, his parents welcomed his younger brother, Chase Koepka. Although born in West Palm, he was raised in Lake Worth.

Brooks attended Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach. During his sixth grade, he made it into his high school’s golf team.

He stated that his father nearly crashed the car out of shock when Brooks told his father that he would skip college and would focus on his golf career.

Furthermore, Brooks polished his golf skills after attending Florida State University. In an interview, he revealed that before attending FSU, he was only an average golfer. It was only when he put in hard work and dedication; he reached where he is today.

Brooks is not the only athlete in his family; his younger brother Chase Koepka is also a professional golfer. His father played baseball and was a pitcher at West Virginia Wesleyan.

In the history of FSU, Brooks’ name is celebrated as one of the decorated players. He is the only golfer from Florida State to earn All-America honors four times.

The golfer has earned All-ACC honors three times and was twice named ACC Player of the Year; during his sophomore season in 2010 and after his senior year in 2012.

He was one of the seven players to be badged as the ACC Player of the Year and Freshmen of the Year in 2009.

Brooks Koepka won his first professional title in the summer of 2012. This was the time when he turned professional after graduating from FSU. He played in the Challenge Tour in Europe.

In 2013, he won Montecchia Golf Open, leading to his second victory. Following this, he won his third title in Challenge de Espana.

He earned a spot in European Tour for the 2014 season after winning Scottish Hydro Challenge. 

2014

In 2014, he played his first PGA Tournament and was ranked 15th in the championship. Eventually, his efforts led him to nominate as PGA Tour Rookie of the Year.

After competing in THE Race to Dubai 2014, he was named Sir Henry Cotton European Tour Rookie of the Year. 

Furthermore, Koepka won his first PGA Tour Event, which moved his position in the Official World Golf Ranking to 19th. 

2017

In 2017, Brooks Koepka won his first major championship, claiming the U.S. Open title at Erin Hills.

This is one of Brooks’ most significant career achievements, as he played at U.S. Open with only one career victory on PGA Tour. 

2018

After going through wrist surgery in 2017, he withdrew from the 2018 Masters Tournament, as he hadn’t perfectly recovered from the surgery.

In 2018, he won his second U.S. Open title at Shinnecock Hills. Furthermore, he is the second player to win U.S. Open titles consecutively.

He also won his first PGA Championship in 2018 in Bellerive Country Club, Missouri, and CJ Cup in 2018.

2019

In 2019, he won his second PGA Championship at Bethpage Black Course, New York. He is the second to win two consecutive years in PGA Championship successfully. The first player to achieve it was Tiger Woods in 2007. 

Again, this second victory in PGA Championship earned him #1 in Official World Golf Ranking.

2020 – 20222

Due to his knee and hip pain, he withdrew from FedEx Cup and U.S. Open. However, after his two-month break, he returned for the 2020-21 season.  

In May 2021, Brooks finished second at the 2021 PGA Championship. He registered a win against his rival Bryson DeChambeau at the Wynn Las Vegas on November 26.

The golfer joined the LIV Golf Tour in June 2022 and debuted in Portland. Koepka won the LIV Golf Invitational Jeddah in October 2022.

No athletes are new to injury. Halting games in-between seasons due to injury isn’t new.

Koepka, a four-time major winner, had to end his 2020 PGA Tour season early due to his hip and knee injury.

During the championship, he tore his patella tendon partially in his left knee. And subsequently, he went through stem cell therapy.

He also had a cortisone injection for his hip after he tore his labrum partially. This was not the first time going through painful stem cell therapy.

In 2019, he underwent a similar treatment for his left knee before returning to full strength.

But unfortunately, during his time in South Korea for the CJ Cup, he slipped on wet concrete, resulting in a tendon injury.

In 2017, while competing in Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, he felt pain in his left wrist. After finishing last in the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Kapalua, he stepped away from the game for 15 weeks.

This caused him to miss participating in Masters Tournament, stopping him from competing in the U.S. Open at Erin Hills.

This handsome young man married his longtime girlfriend, Jena Sims, in June 2022.

It is reported that the couple met in 2015 at the Master’s Tournament. But the couple made their first public appearance in 2017 after his victory in U.S. Open and made newsline headings.
