Renowned climber from California, Conrad Anker, sharing a photo with nutritionist Amy Field, referring to her as his “sweetheart,” has raised questions about his long-standing marriage to Jennifer Lowe-Anker.
Conrad has reportedly restricted who can comment on his Instagram and Facebook posts, too.
In October 1999, Conrad Anker and his close friend Alex Lowe traveled to Tibet to climb Shishapangma, a mountain over 26,000 feet high.
They were joined by cameraman David Bridges and planned to ski down after reaching the top. But while climbing, a sudden avalanche struck.
Both Alex and David were killed, their bodies buried in the snow. Conrad survived, but the loss of his friends left him devastated and full of guilt.
Conrad went to Bozeman, Montana, not knowing what else to do to be with Alex’s wife, Jenni, and her three young sons.
What started as support in a time of grief slowly grew into something more.
In the months following Alex’s death, Conrad and Jenni found comfort in each other.
Less than two years later, on April 6, 2001, Conrad and Jenni married in Italy, with her boys by their side.
Conrad Anker Faces Backlash As Questions Rise Around His Public Image And Personal Life
In November 2024, Jenni Lowe-Anker began the process of shutting down the Alex Lowe Foundation, a nonprofit she co-founded with her husband, Conrad Anker.
At first, the news didn’t seem like a big deal.
However, after seeing a surprising post with Amy on Conrad’s social media recently, Jenni’s decision to dissolve the foundation started in 2023.
Around that same time, a woman named Rose Wilde, who appears to be in her twenties, posted a video on YouTube claiming that Conrad had been sending her sexual messages and photos on Instagram for a while.
She accused him of inappropriate behavior, but many resisted her claims, saying the messages were consensual.
At the same time, Rose Wilde shared a video of another woman. One of Nirmal Purja’s alleged victims spoke with legendary mountaineer Reinhold Messner over the phone, sharing her painful experience.
A Reddit user later responded that the woman who identified as Rose Wilde is named Brianna McNany.
They stated that her claims about Conrad Anker were proven false in court.
As a result, a judge reportedly issued a 10-year restraining order to protect Conrad and his family from her and the accusations she made.
This conversation is reckless, in addition to slanderous and false. Rose Wilde isn’t Rose Wilde. Her name is Brianna McNany, and the story she created about Conrad was false. She was brought to court and a 10 year restraining order was granted to protect Conrad (and his family – who is still his family) from her and all of her defamatory story line. This has to stop.

Many people have acknowledged makes this particular situation feel especially uncomfortable is how heavily Conrad Anker built his reputation around the story of love, loss, and family following the death of Alex Lowe.

Now, with signs that the relationship may have ended via cheating allegations, it feels like a betrayal of the trust people placed in him and his story.
Cheating is not great by any means, but it happens and divorce happens all the time. I think you hit the nail on the head though why this whole thing feels particularly icky though given how much he leaned onto that story for public notoriety and financial gain. Even as adults it will also be traumatic for the kids as well to see someone they put so much trust in betray their mom.

Same thing I thought about when the stuff about Win Butler from Arcade Fire came out. It wasn’t sexual assault, but if you present yourself as so damn earnest and fail to live up to the bar you set for yourself then the kick down will be swift.
