American football quarterback, Cam Newton, was born and raised in Atlanta to his parents, Cecil Newton Sr. and Jackie. He has two siblings and they are also into football.

After making it to the 2011 NFL Draft, the quarterback earned the Offensive Rookie of the Year in his first season with the Panthers.
Newton guided the Panthers to four playoffs and three division victories between 2013 and 2017.

The father of Cam, Cecil Newton Sr. was a former football player. Cecil played college football as a safety linebacker for Savannah State University. Later, he joined as a safety for the 1983 Dallas Cowboys and 1984 Buffalo Bills.
Currently, Newton Sr. deals with his son’s agents and normally works as a buffer filter.
The love for football runs in the bloodline of Newton’s family. Like their father, the elder son Cecil Newton Jr. is a former football center while the youngest Caylin Newton is a quarterback for Auburn University.

About The Scandal
In November 2010, a former quarterback for Mississippi State alleged that Cam Newton and his father demanded a specific sum of money before agreeing to join the Bulldogs.
A few days later, accusations of Newton cheating academically surfaced while he was at the University of Florida.
“Me and my father have had long talks a lot of times during this past year,” Cam talked about the scandal. “It was extremely hard for me to see a person who was extremely influential in my life be tarnished in the media.”
“Through it all, me and my father still had an excellent relationship.” He added.
“What brought me comfort at night through that time was talking to him and seeing the confidence that he had in his voice,” Newton said in an interview during his college career.
Later, the NCAA informed Auburn in October that it found no major violations in its investigation of Newton’s recruitment or other unrelated pay-for-play allegations.
