Cameron Boozer, a Christopher Columbus High School basketball player, grew up in an athletic household. His father, Carlos Boozer, and fraternal twin brother, Cayden, also play basketball.

The Boozer family is well-known in the basketball community due to Carlos’s NBA legacy and his sons’ emerging talents.

Cameron began playing basketball at Christopher Columbus High School, where he won a state championship in his sophomore year.

On March 22, 2023, he was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year at 15. Likewise, he was named Florida Mr. Basketball and Mr. Basketball USA.

Cameron showcased his remarkable talent during the 2023 FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship in Mérida, Yucatán.

His leadership and performance culminated in an extraordinary 82-point victory over Team Canada, securing the gold medal.

On June 11, 2023, he received the Under-16 Most Valuable Player title for his exceptional efforts.

According to the primary recruiting services, the Boozer twin siblings are consensus five-star recruits and top players in the 2025 class.

They both committed to play college basketball at Duke after considering offers from Miami and Florida.

Cameron Boozer’s Parents Separated After A Decade

Cameron Boozer, the son of Carlos Boozer and Cindy “CeCe” Nichole Blackwell, was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 18, 2007. His parents named him Cameron Sikander Boozer.

Carlos married CeCe in 2003 but divorced in 2015. Their divorce process began in 2009 and was finalized six years later.

Cameron’s father is a former NBA player who had a successful 13-season career. He was a two-time All-Star and won an Olympic gold medal. Throughout his career, he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls, and Los Angeles Lakers.

On the other hand, Cameron’s mother is a chief financial officer at Iconic Creative Agency. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in business administration.

Carlos and CeCe have three children: Carmani and fraternal twins, Cameron and Cayden.

Before their son Carmani was born, doctors diagnosed him with sickle cell disease—an inherited and painful condition that affects nearly 100,000 people in the U.S.

What should have been a joyous occasion for Carlos and CeCe turned bittersweet when they received life-changing news.

Later, they turned to in-vitro fertilization (IVF) to shield their future children from the disease and to help Carmani directly. Their tenacity paid off in July 2007 when Cameron and Cayden, twin boys, were born.

The arrival of the twins marked the beginning of hope and healing. Stem cells collected from one of the twins’ umbilical cords were used in a groundbreaking bone marrow transplant for Carmani, a high-risk procedure that brought both challenges and promise.

Against the odds, the transplant succeeded, revealing Carmani’s remarkable resilience and strength at such a tender age.

Fast-forward to today, Cameron and Cayden are carving out their paths while honoring their father’s legacy on the basketball court.

The idea of ‘I am my brother’s keeper’ pretty much defines our family. That’s who they’ve been since they were born, blessed to be able to take care of their brother.
They’ve fought for [their identity] their entire life. Even though they did everything together, I made sure that they were both allowed to be their own person.
