New Hope Railroad trainman and younger brother of CB South High School football player Tim Goldberg, Andrew Goldberg, also known as Andy, has passed away, leaving family and friends shattered.

Unlike his older brother Tim, Andrew was not heavily involved in sports, as he had been engaged with train engines from a young age.

Not only was he enthusiastic about trains, but he also had a deep love for railroad history, which made him such a young talent at New Hope Railroad at such a young age.

Andrew Goldberg died on 18 December 2025. His death was confirmed by his family member inclusing his brother Tim, who has share eartfelt post on Facebook.

While the cause of Andy’s death has not been made public, what is known is that he is survived in the hearts of many.

Following Andy’s passing, many have expressed their heartfelt sorrow and sympathy in the media, while one of his best friends said Andy was the role model and best friend anyone could ask for.

Andy was also a role model to me as well. He demonstrated traits like hard work, determination, commitment, and compassion among many others. As a friend, he was everything you could ever ask for. He was always there for me, just a text or call away. I’ll never forget the times he went out of his way to comfort and support me last year when I was having some relationship problems. I’m sure gonna miss you Andrew Goldberg. The great impact you’ve made on my life is here to stay, and I dedicate all my hard work from this point on to you. I know you’re in a good place now, I can already imagine you up there jamming’ out with Ozzy, or behind the throttle of a Reading G3 steam locomotive. May God Bless you and your family. Love ya, man.

Andy was not just a trainman; he was also a kind person. In 2024, Andy won the Joey Edwards Memorial Scholarship.

He was also the President of the Operation Eternal Gratitude Club, where he raised funds and helped many who needed assistance.

Following his passing, Andy’s mother, Amy, has requested that anyone who wishes to help can make a donation of their choice to Kind Like Joey in honor of Andy’s memory.

Andy’s passing has not just brought grief to his family and friends, but also to the New Hope Railroad, which has lost one of its best trainmen.

Andy is survived by his parents, Amy and Mark, his brothers, Tim and Dan, and his loved ones who continue to keep him in their hearts.

While the community mourns, we also express our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the family, friends, and everyone who knew Andy.

Rest in Peace, Young Soul!
