Following 16 years of his NFL career retirement, reports of Cedirc’s demise came; he was battling pancreatic cancer then.

“My love, my best friend, my husband of 21 years is no longer physically with me, but he lives in my heart and in the hearts of our 3 children,” She wrote.

“I’m comforted in knowing he is resting and no longer in pain, but I’m still at a loss and can’t believe this is real.”

She further wrote, “If you’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting him then you already know how special he is. Just an all around great person. I don’t just say this as his wife, it’s echoed by family, friends, and former teammates. It has been an honor to share life with him, and to love and be loved by him. ❤️ So grateful for it all. Love you for life.”

Later, on June 26, Shavon updated her Facebook profile with a collage of photos featuring moments with her late husband.

Cause of Death And The Injury Which Triggered His Retirement

The former professional football defensive tackle died at the age of 45 following a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer.

Killings was struggling with the tumor for the better part of his retirement life.

His life had always been tough, as his professional football career had to end abruptly after fracturing his vertebra.

In a 2007 game against the Indianapolis Colts, the defensive tackle collided head-to-head during a kickoff return. This collision fractured Killings’ C-4 vertebrae, a part of the spinal column in the neck, ending his football career.

After retiring from NFL, he took over a job as an assistant football coach at Carol City High School.
