Cause of Death And The Injury Which Triggered His Retirement
The former professional football defensive tackle died at the age of 45 following a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer.
Killings was struggling with the tumor for the better part of his retirement life.
His life had always been tough, as his professional football career had to end abruptly after fracturing his vertebra.
In a 2007 game against the Indianapolis Colts, the defensive tackle collided head-to-head during a kickoff return. This collision fractured Killings’ C-4 vertebrae, a part of the spinal column in the neck, ending his football career.
