Chelsea 0-1 Arsenal :Tuchel takes full responsibility for his side’s defeat

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel says he takes full responsibility for his side’s defeat to Arsenal after making seven changes to the game.

The Blues reported a stunning victory over Manchester City on Saturday to delay the celebration of the Premier League title. And raise their hopes of finishing in the top four.

However, with the FA Cup final against Leicester on Saturday, only four players have secured their places on Tuchel’s side by visiting Arsenal on Wednesday.

It was a solid line-up, but Jorginho‘s error in the first half allowed Emile Smith Rowe to score, which was Arsenal’s winning goal. And, although Chelsea held the ball and hit the stick twice late, they couldn’t find the balance.

Chelsea remains fourth with 64 points. But a defeat will give their rivals hope to get into the top four.

They are six points ahead of West Ham, with a game in hand. And seven ahead of Liverpool, with two games in writing for the Blues.

“I’m a little bit more upset with the thing that we’ve had so many changes. That’s up to me,” said Tuchel.

“I’m not happy looking at the end of the list. But I didn’t know the thing about what was going to happen next.

“I didn’t have heard anything about it today as I always do. And now we can’t expect to win games if not 100% in games.

“I’m not happy about what I saw. I have a responsibility because I took the list of players. But the performance was performance.”

Jorginho’s mistake will disappoint Tuchel.

Jorginho’s mistake will disappoint Tuchel. The midfielder thought severely of the ground that was in danger of moving over the line before Kepa Arrizabalaga could cross the ball. But it was given to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who replaced Smith Rowe.

Christian Pulisic thought he had measured the hour. Still, an offside assistant referee denied his strike, and Bernd Leno pushed Kurt Zouma‘s head into the bathtub. During an injury before Olivier, Giroud’s volley returned to the post.

The win also means the Gunners have twice beaten the Blues for the first time in 17 years to boost their hopes of making sure they play European football next season.

Arsenal is in eighth place with only one point behind Tottenham in seventh place, despite playing a different game.

Chelsea’s inactive day offers hope of chasing the pack.

Chelsea has been very impressive under Tuchel and, while the immediate goal is to get the points needed to strengthen the top-four finish this season.

The signs are good that they should be the title contenders in the future.

A two-legged victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals revealed how difficult it is for the team to beat.

But this match has also shown that they can sometimes be their worst enemy.

Jorginho’s mistakes, while trying to get back to Kepa, were the eighth. The Blues had made mistakes that led to opposition goals in the Premier League this season.

A number got surpassed only by Liverpool nine and Chelsea in a single league campaign from 2015-16.

However, Chelsea had many chances to get results. But they were wasting in front of the goal.

Kai Havertz should have scored a goal before Smith Rowe’s opener. But he fired wildly when Giroud also had an excellent chance to equalize in the second half.

Chelsea may have had the complete impression of the FA Cup final on Saturday against Leicester. And are in an excellent position to finish in the top four. But a defeat – only three under Tuchel – will give hope to the dismissal.

Liverpool’s next two games are at Manchester United and bring down West Brom. And if they win, they will get left behind Chelsea with two games to go.

“We didn’t have had any of the shot for an almost entire second half of the game,” added Tuchel.

“Maybe we were worth it. And we’re going to learn something.”

The win is welcome, but it is still working for Arsenal.

A win on the solid side of Chelsea is an excellent result and keeps Arsenal’s hopes alive to avoid missing European football for the first time in 27 seasons.

Playing was a big disappointment as, as Smith Rowe’s defeat followed Jorginho’s mistake. They struggled to create anything significant as they spent most of the game encamped on their own.

But the good thing is that they were well-defensive, especially when they came under pressure late.

While riding the fortune sometimes had another positive outcome when the Gunners tried to reduce the disappointment of failing to reach the Europa League finals.

Arsenal still looks far from the side that will challenge the top four and anytime soon. But now it’s three Premier League wins in a row.

And with games left with Crystal Palace and Brighton. They have a chance to end a difficult season in a good way.

The manager of the team, Arsenal Mikel Arteta, said that: “I am pleased with the many things. We have had done it from the first minute—moreover, the attitude and desire to win that we have shown.

“Furthermore, we have had to go inside, and you have to face this team again. Because they are an excellent team, we did everything we could to try and get the best result, and we did it.”
