Christopher Brady Fowler, aka Chris Fowler, is an American sports broadcaster for ESPN, who also serves as the play-by-play announcer for Saturday Night Football on ABC and ESPN’s tennis coverage.

Chris replaced Brent Musburger as the play-by-play announcer for Saturday Night Football on ABC in 2014, alongside his fellow College Gameday’s Kirk Herbstreit.

He is famous for his work on College GameDay, which he hosted between 1990 and 2014.

Chris Fowler was born on August 23, 1962, and was raised in Rockford, Illinois. Later, Chris’s family relocated to Colorado Springs during his teenage years.

His father, Knox, was a theatre professor at Penn State University, whereas no details about his mother are available in the media. 

Fowler joined General William J. Palmer High School in 1980. Later, he graduated from the University of Colorado in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree.

He happens to be the very first recipient of the ‘Alan Berg Memorial Journalism Scholarship’ from the Denver Press Club.

Fowler started being involved in journalism during his undergraduate years. From 1983 to 1985, he worked for a cable television program. Likewise, he worked as a producer and co-host for a weekly magazine.
