Tim Ferrando, a former Dolphins Youth Coach, was shocked to find that two of his Harley-Davidson motorcycles had gone missing. These bikes are worth around $10,000 each.
Chris (Gibby) Gibson stole his bike and is on the run. He was gambling at a Bar on Edgewater before his arrest on Saturday.
Two Harley-Davidson motorcycles were stolen from a northeast Salem home early Thursday morning, prompting the victim and online communities to rally in identifying the suspect.
The theft occurred near the intersection of Hazelgreen Road NE and Portland Road NE. Homeowner Tim Ferrando discovered his two motorcycles missing when he walked into his carport just after 4 a.m.
The stolen bikes, a blue 2002 Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide and a red 2001 Fat Boy, are valued at around $10,000 each.
My heart dropped, and I just went numb.

Luckily, the entire theft was captured on the homeowner’s surveillance cameras. Footage showed a white man entering the carport at 2:08 a.m.
The suspect was seen placing a cigarette in his mouth as he quietly moved a small dog gate, seemingly trying to avoid detection.
After rolling out the first motorcycle, the thief returned five minutes later to take the second bike, which had been hidden behind bushes.
Ferrando speculated that the suspect may have only had a two-bike trailer, as a third motorcycle parked nearby was left untouched.
Later, he reported the theft to Salem Police shortly before 5 a.m. Authorities are investigating, and the victim hopes the clear surveillance footage will help track down the suspect.
Tim Ferrando Turns to Facebook After Motorcycles Go Missing
When Tim Ferrando discovered his beloved motorcycles were stolen, he didn’t just file a police report; he took to Facebook.
He asked friends and the community for help, and the response was overwhelming.
Within hours, dozens of people shared his post, spreading the alert across the city. It went to this guy, then to that guy, and spread fast as soon as they saw the post.
The power of social media quickly led to a potential suspect. Users identified the individual as Chris (Gibby) Gibson. When an officer visited Ferrando’s home, they confirmed they were already familiar with the person named online.
Recovering his bikes is the top priority for the former coach. The motorcycles hold sentimental value, and he regularly uses them for charity rides.
He’s even willing to forgo pressing charges if they’re returned unharmed.
If you tell me where my bikes are at, and they’re still in the same shape, or bring them back to me — no questions asked! Because right now, there’s hundreds of people looking for you, and this town is pretty small.

Chris Gibson Was Gambling at a Bar on Edgewater Before His Arrest
The police have arrested Chris “Gibby” Gibson, the alleged thief, but he refuses to reveal the location of the bikes.
Despite playing dumb, Gibson admitted to officers that he’s been following Facebook and knows the community has been searching for him.
With no bikes recovered, there’s a chance Gibson could be released early.
Authorities note that he has shaved his beard down to a half-inch and suggest that if someone monitors him after his release, he might lead them to the stolen property.
Tim Ferrando had strong words for Gibson.
Good morning, Chris (Gibby) Gibson, otherwise known as the piece of shit that stole my bikes. I hope you think you’re in the clear, but let me tell you—people are already at your known hangouts. I gave you a chance to return my bikes, but you didn’t take it. Now, people are looking for you, and it’s not the police—if you know what I mean.

Ferrando revealed that Gibson was gambling at a bar on Edgewater the night before his arrest, and that location, along with his other favorite spots, is now under watch.
He also knew that Gibson usually picks his boys up Friday evening from his ex’s house and drops them off Sunday afternoon. Moreover, he had coached one of Gibson’s friends, Ricky, on the Dolphins team.
Ferrando warned that the hunt will only intensify, especially once a reward is posted, encouraging Gibson to do the right thing before things get worse.
As the search continues, the community remains vigilant, hoping Gibson’s release might finally lead to the recovery of the stolen bikes.
