Chris Oladokun, a quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL) was born on September 3, 1997, in Tampa, Florida, to his parents, Henry Oladokun and Jennifer Carter.

He commenced his college football journey at the University of South Florida, later making a move to Samford University and eventually finding his place at South Dakota State University.

In the 2022 NFL Draft, Oladokun’s talent earned him a spot in the seventh round as the 241st overall pick, selected by none other than the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Unfortunately, his time with the Steelers was short-lived, as he was released on August 23, 2022.

However, fate had other plans for Oladokun. On August 31, 2022, he found a new home in the form of the Kansas City Chiefs, joining their practice squad.

Oladokun won Super Bowl LVII when the Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles.

Recognizing his potential, the Chiefs secured his future by signing him to a reserve/future contract on February 15, 2023, solidifying his place in their team.

The sporting spirit runs in the family, as his father, Henry, once showcased his skills on the basketball court during his time at Howard University.

Oladokun’s academic pursuits align with his passion for mass communications, reflecting his chosen major.

His dedication to both academics and athletics is evident, having earned a place on the 2018 USF Athletics Spring Honor Roll.

Hailing from Tampa, he completed his high school journey at Sickles High School, located 11 miles away from the University of South Florida’s campus and 12 miles to the north of the Raymond James Stadium.

A Standout College Football Player

Embarking on his collegiate journey, Oladokun‘s path led him to South Florida, where his true freshman year saw him take a redshirt.

As a redshirt freshman, he saw action in a limited capacity, participating in two games.

During this time, he completed a pass attempt for 12 yards and carried the ball once for a single yard.

Progressing into his redshirt sophomore season, Oladokun earned his place as a starter for three games, demonstrating his growing prowess on the field.

Across 44 pass attempts, he showcased his accuracy by completing 22 of them, amassing 285 yards and contributing three touchdowns, while his decision-making resulted in a sole interception.

The conclusion of this season marked a pivotal point in Oladokun’s journey as he declared his intent to transfer to Samford University.

With a fresh start at Samford, Oladokun’s inaugural season with the Bulldogs was marked by his participation in all 12 games, with eight of those games seeing him start.

His statistical contributions were notable, as he notched 2,064 passing yards and an impressive 18 touchdowns, albeit with seven interceptions.

His versatility shone through as he added 493 rushing yards and eight more touchdowns to his repertoire.

After a successful senior season, Oladokun’s quest for excellence led him to South Dakota State University as a graduate transfer.

In his lone season donning the Jackrabbits jersey, he continued to make waves, amassing an impressive 3,164 passing yards and 25 touchdowns, further solidifying his status as a dynamic quarterback.
