Columbus Lions quarterback Vincent Espinosa and his partner, Carolina Marie Garza, are grieving the heartbreaking loss of their baby daughter, Akira Mina Espinoza.

In the early morning hours of May 29, baby Akira faced a sudden and serious medical emergency.

Despite every effort made by her family and the dedicated medical team at Valley Children’s Hospital, Akira tragically passed away.

She was surrounded by love throughout her fight, with her parents, relatives, and friends by her side, hoping for a miracle that sadly did not come.

Now, in the wake of this devastating loss, the family is asking for support during this incredibly difficult time.

A fundraiser has been launched to help Vincent and Carolina with the unexpected expenses as they navigate their grief.

Vincent Espinosa took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news of his daughter Akira Mina Espinoza’s passing.

In an emotional message, he expressed the pain and confusion he and his family are feeling, saying they are leaning on faith and prayer for strength during this devastating time.

He spoke about Akira’s strength and courage in her short life, acknowledging how hard she fought through her unexpected medical battle.

Though the cause is still unknown, he believes her purpose may have been greater than they could understand, and finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace and surrounded by love.

Today We Lost Our Sweet Baby Girl In A Very Tough Battle.. As Much As She Was Fighting So Hard And Being So Strong And Despite Having To Go Thru The Things She Did In This Short Time We Know She Is Resting In A Better Place Now.. We Still Dont Know What Caused This And How Sudden It Was But We Believe Maybe Her Purpose Was Higher And Experiencing So Much Luv And Care From The Moment She Was Born Until Now I Know That She’s With My Grandma In Heaven Still With Us In Spirit.. She’s Changed Our Lives Forever And She Came Out So Perfect And Healthy And Was The Best… We Don’t Know Why Things Like This Happen And We Have So Many Questions But We Trust In God And Gods Plan Even Tho This Is The Worst Experience To Have As A Parent.. We Appreciate All The Support And All The Luv… Rest In Luv To Our Baby Girl
