Anthony Richardson is the eldest of two & has a younger brother named Cory Richardson.
Since his parents separated when Anthony was young, he had to care of his brother as his mother was busy with work.
Richardson’s fascination with football & dedication to becoming the best made him a touted prospect in the NFL.
He became the 4th overall pick (first round) of the Indianapolis Colts in the 2023 NFL draft, behind Bryce Young, CJ Stroud & Will Anderson.
Not just an elder brother & a family pride, Anthony Dashawn Richardson is also an aspiring NFL figure now.
The Colts’ newbie quarterback showed his potential since his school days.
At Eastside High School, he recorded 25 touchdown passes, over 1,200 passing yards, and 10 rushing touchdowns in his senior year.
For his collegiate football, Richardson enrolled at the University of Florida.

Anthony Richardson’s Brother: Corey Carter
Richardson’s younger brother, Corey Carter, was born in Tennessee & grew up in Miami.
Corey’s been a beloved brother of the 4th overall pick of the 2023 NFL draft, Anthony Richardson.
After their parents separated, their mother LaShawnda Cleare, who raised them as a single mother, had to juggle between jobs to put food on the table.
So, Anthony used to take on after-school care for his 13-year-old brother Corey Carter while also managing time for football & basketball workouts.
During the 2023 NFL Draft night, Richardson & his brother Corey wore identical outfits, where the Florida alumnus was picked by the Colts.
The younger Richardson then said of his big bro, “This is very special to me. Especially because I look up to him and have always wanted to be like him.”
The achievement was the result of a genuine family team effort.
Richardson balanced taking care of his younger brother while committing to basketball and football training.
Anthony Dashawn Richardson has demonstrated qualities in his own athletic career, given his success in college football and his current position as a quarterback in the NFL.
Anthony Richardson Family
Richardson was born on May 22, 2002, in Gainesville, Florida, to LaShawnda Lane and Richardson Sr.
Even though his parents parted ways, they were there for him, but it is mostly his mother LaShawnda, who influenced his upbringing to a football star- now with the Colts in the NFL.
She has supported him throughout his development as a footballer and has always inspired him to do greater things in life.
Anthony’s mother is now married to her second husband, Ferrell Cleare. They married in June 2021.
Anthony started playing football at age 3 in Miami, Florida.
When he was six years old, his uncle Jobbin passed away, and he chose to ink the name of Lane as a tattoo to remember Lane’s life.
As a tribute to his uncle, who was lion-hearted, he got a lion tattooed on his right forearm.
Does He Have A Sister?
No, the NFL quarterback doesn’t have any sisters. It’s only him & his younger brother Corey.
Career Journey To NFL
