While Cutter Gauthier has a net worth that might be modest for a hockey star, that value is expected to rise exponentially as his NHL career starts.

A trailblazer for Boston in college hockey, Gauthier has also appeared internationally at the youth level for the United States.

Giving his trading rights to the Anaheim Ducks, Gauthier’s present net worth is mainly accredited to his international appearances.

Being named the best forward at the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship, Cutter Gauthier made more headlines after his trade to the Anaheim Ducks.

He was born in Sweden when his father, Sean, played professional hockey there. Undoubtedly, he inherited the sporting genes from his dad.

An avid hockey and NHL fan growing up, he supported the Pittsburgh Penguins and idolized Sidney Crosby.

The hockey star’s estimated net worth is between $50,000 and $100,000.

A significant fragment of his net worth is attributed to his Team USA appearances. Gauthier has appeared for his national side in the World Junior Championships and under-18 levels.

Additionally, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2022 NHL Entry Level draft.

However, he has not reportedly signed an entry-level contract with any NHL team. On January 8, 2024, his NHL rights were traded to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Jamie Drysdale.

Once Gauthier puts pen to paper on an entry-level contract with the Ducks, his net worth will rise significantly.

To illustrate, entry-level contracts in the NHL can pay the player up to around the million mark.

Nevertheless, starring for Boston College, he is one of the highly-rated young prospects in hockey.

Not only is he expected to be a key player for the Ducks once he entirely turns pro, but his contract, salary, and earnings will also follow suit.

Flyers Controversy And Death Threats

To say Cutter Gauthier and the Philadelphia Flyers fans have a sour relationship would be an understatement.

After seemingly not wanting to play for the Flyers, he was traded in a deal with Jamie Drysdale to the Anaheim Ducks.

In an interview, Gauthier kept things under wraps, saying he wasn’t ready to reveal the reason for his fallout with the Flyers yet.

“The biggest thing I can say right now is I have to keep it to myself, my family, and my agent. It’s been a long process in the past handful of months of dealing with this. I don’t think it’s the right time to kind of discuss it.”

Requesting privacy regarding the matter, he stated there would be a time and place when he would reveal everything.

In an emotional turn, Gauthier talked about the death threats he received from some Philly fans.

“A 19-year-old kid getting a lot of death threats and a bunch of people saying some pretty poor things, it’s pretty tough to see. With all the rumors spreading around that aren’t true, it’s kind of tough to go out and say one word or anything to kind of quiet those people.”

A motivated Gauthier also revealed he could not wait to play against the Flyers once he comes to the NHL.

“I can’t wait to go out there and play my game in front of those fans. I’m really excited about that game.”
