Born on October 1, 1992, Cy R Sneed is a professional baseball player who plays for the Tokyo Yakult Swallows.
He is a baseball pitcher and has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Houston Astros.
On October 1, 1992, Sneed was born to his parents Bob Sneed and his mother, whose name is yet to be found. He has an older brother, Zeb Sneed, who also is a baseball player. The Sneed family comes from a small town in Elko, Nevada.
Bob Sneed, Cy Sneed’s father, also played baseball. He is the inspiration for his two kids to pursue a life in baseball.
Bob Sneed played for McQueen, Lassen Community College, and Purdue. The New York Mets picked Bob as a 42nd-round pick in 1986.
However, later on, Bob picked up a job in Elko in the Nevada Highway Patrol. Bob worked hard and received the position of Sergeant. He married, had kids, and even bought his dream house.

Cy Sneed, the right-handed baseball pitcher, has played for teams like Tokyo Yakult Swallows, Milwaukee Brewers, and the Houston Astros.
However, as an amateur, he has played for Twin Falls High School and Dallas Baptist University.
Amateur Career: Twin Falls High School
As a high schooler, Cy attended Twin Falls High Schoo. In his senior year with them, Sneed pitched to a 9-0 win-loss record and got an earned run average (ERA) of 1.36.
Likewise, he managed 130 strikeouts and got a batting average of .467 with 11 home runs and 38 runs batted in.
His stellar performance helped him lead his team to the Class 4A state championship. Cy struck out 14 batters.
Due to his impeccable performance, Sneed received Times-News Player of the Year and the Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year for Idaho.
Cy Sneed was presented the Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year award at the Bill Ingram Field. He became the second player from Twin Falls to win the award.

After impressing many scouts and potential suitors, the Texas Rangers selected the 6 feet 4-inch baller in the 35th round of the 2011 MLB draft.
However, playing for Dallas Baptist University, which played their first-ever NCAA Division I Super Regional, appealed to him.
Cy described the dilemma to choose between DBU and Texas Ranger as a win-win situation, as DBU was a blossoming team at the time, and Texas Ranger was headed by Sneed’s all-time favorite player, Nolan Ryan.
Consequently, he opted to enroll at Dallas Baptist University. Despite the Texas Rangers’ lucrative offer, Cy was destined to play for the Dallas Baptist Patriots, the baseball team of DBU.

Later that summer, Cy played with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks, a collegiate summer team in the Cape Cod Baseball League.
With the Dallas Baptist, Sneed had an 8-3 win-loss record and had an impressive 3.55 ERA, and 82 strikeouts in 104 innings pitched.
Milwaukee Brewers
As Sneed’s career continued, he got selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the third round of the 2014 MLB draft.
So, he signed for the Milwaukee Brewers in 2014. Sometime after signing, Cy was assigned to the Helena Brewers, a Minor League Baseball team in the Pioneer League.
For the Helena Brewers, Cy pitched an 0-2 record and had a 5.92 ERA in games.
Wisconsin Timber Rattlers
Later on, Cy Sneed went on to play the first half of the 2015 season with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, another Minor League Baseball team of the Midwest League.
There he had a win-loss record of 3-7 and got an ERA (Earned Run Average) of 2.68 in 15 games (13 starts)
As a result of his fascinating display, Midwest League named him to the Midwest All-Star team.
Brevard County Manatees
Cy went on to play the second half of the season with Brevard County, another minor league baseball team based in Viera, Florida.
With the Manatees, Cy pitched to a win-loss record of 3-4 and had a 2.47 ERA in 11 games.
Houston Astros
The Milwaukee Brewers traded Cy Sneed on November 19, 2015, to the Houston Astros in exchange for an infielder, Jonathan Villar.
However, Cy would spend the entirety of the 2016 season with the Corpus Christi Hooks, another minor league baseball team.
With the Hooks, Cy managed a 6-5 record and a 4.04 ERA in 25 games. Later on, he would play for the Fresno Grizzlies, another minor league baseball team.
Cy’s combined statistics for the two teams are a 10-6 record and a 5.97 ERA.

Round Rock Express
