Healing over survival

Kayeslin Willis’s dad was deeply involved in playing softball, which often took priority over his responsibilities as a father.

He missed both Kayeslin’s and her sister Tayla’s births to play softball.

Moreover, he continued to choose the sport over showing up for them emotionally or physically throughout their childhood.

While he wasn’t a professional athlete, softball was clearly his main focus.

Kayesln Willis Is Focused on Healing And Reclaiming Her Life After Years of Trauma and Responsibility!

Kayeslin Willis is a young woman who recently opened up about her painful journey growing up in a broken and unstable home.

In a Facebook post, she shared how her father denied her at birth and prioritized softball over parenting.

Her mother raised her mostly alone, and three years later, her little brother Keyston was born.

Their dad was present for his birth but quickly disappeared again.

After having children with two different women, including Kayeslin’s mother, he met Mercedes at a softball game.

He started a new relationship with her, and they have four children together.

However, after he left, her mother struggled with alcoholism, and Kayeslin had to step up and raise her younger brother while still a child herself.

She bravely spoke about being sexually abused by her mother’s ex-husband, Cameron Hickman.

The abuse began when she was six years old and continued until she was eight.

When she first spoke up about the abuse, her mother didn’t believe her at the time.

Later, her mother witnessed it happening and called the police.

Tragically, in 2023, her mom passed away. Kayeslin hoped things would get better, but her father and his girlfriend continued to mistreat her.

She was forced to babysit, denied chances to live her own life. Just a week after the funeral, he was asking for the death certificate to file for survivor benefits.

When Kayeslin decided to move out to protect her mental health, her father accused her of not caring about her siblings and tried to turn them against her.

On her birthday, instead of celebrating, her father and his girlfriend treated her with disrespect and anger.

Rather than understanding her feelings, her dad got upset and told her to leave immediately.

Mercedes came into the room with a birthday cake and confetti poppers and threw them at her in frustration.

She gave Kayeslin just 20 minutes to pack her things and leave.

After being kicked out by her father and his girlfriend on her birthday, she moved in with her grandmother.

Through her post, Kayeslin revealed the truth behind the people who pretend to care in public but cause her deep pain in private.

She shared her story to heal, let go, and finally feel free.

Despite being denied at birth, abused in silence, and stepping into a parental role at a young age, Kayeslin chose courage over silence.
